“What the heck does NSH stand for”? That was literally my response when I first heard of this new cafe that has popped up near Arab Street.

It was after checking their Instagram that I realised NSH means “No Strangers Here”. Guess who put her thinking cap on and figured out that the cafe’s cosiness might mean everyone here is like a friend? Yup, it’s me.

NSH Coffee houses themselves at the ever-bustling Kampong Glam. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed while exploring the area but this cafe offers the perfect hideout with their minimalist, laid-back vibe.

Beat the tropical heat with the range of beverages offered. As their name suggests, NSH Coffee is primarily a coffeehouse, so serving a good cup of joe is their priority.

While you can find the usuals like Cappucino (S$6) and Spanish Latte (S$6) served here, you should not miss out on their selection of unique concoctions. As someone who’s obsessed with all things matcha, I naturally went for the Strawberry & Matcha (S$7).

I also ordered the Blue Matcha (S$7), partly due to its pretty colour. It’s essentially blue latte infused with butterfly pea flower and topped with a layer of matcha cream. The drink tasted good but I wish the matcha packed more punch.

Planning to stay long? Pair your drink with their baked treats. I made a beeline for their Bomboloni Nutella (S$6) as I’d never say no to these round fluffy doughnuts filled with sweet, creamy fillings.

I’m so glad I did because the bomboloni was perfection — crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. And the Nutella? Just the right amount of indulgence without being too much, so no worries about feeling jelak after a few bites!

They also offer Espresso Tiramisu (S$15) and Burnt Cheesecake (S$10) if you’re looking for something more indulgent.

Another standout is their stuffed dates, a unique offering you won’t find in many other cafes. Here, regular dates are topped with ingredients like Pistachio, Candied Orange, and White Choco Cashew for added sweetness and crunch.

All dates are priced at S$1.50 each and are perfect for Muslims looking to break their fast with something a little out of the ordinary.

So, why not swing by to escape the crowd and heat?
