Discover Power Thai BBQ, a Halal-certified spot with $25 mookata platters for two and freshly grilled satay

With Halal-certified mookata options dwindling in Singapore after the closure of Ryo Yakiniku and ENAK, Power Thai BBQ stands out as one of the largest remaining Halal mookata spots tucked away along Changi Road

Unlike popular Halal spots like Hahahotpot and Jing Hotpot, Power Thai BBQ operates in a non-air-conditioned food court. Before you worry about the heat, the space isn’t enclosed—so you can grill comfortably with a natural breeze flowing through. If that’s not enough, there’ll be multiple fans to keep the area cool.

Prefer more ventilation? Choose the outdoor seats, which sit closer to the main street and feel less stuffy than the indoor ones. Either way, the seating hardly matters, so long as you arrive hungry and ready to feast

When grading mookata spots, we focus on two key factors: the variety of ingredients and the soup broth options. At Power Thai BBQ, the menu delivers on both. Diners can choose from a wide range of proteins, including beef, chicken, mutton, and seafood. They are also available in multiple marinated sauces, from classic black pepper to garlic.

The vegetable and carbohydrate selection stays familiar, with options like corn, bok choy, and more. We like pairing our mookata with a bowl of hot, fluffy white rice, but if rice isn’t your thing, the menu also offers noodles.

For soup bases, they offer Tom Yum and Chicken. We preferred the Tom Yum broth for its thick, savoury kick with a spicy edge. Though the Chicken broth holds its own once it absorbs the meat juices, vegetables, and seafood.

Other than mookata, Power Thai BBQ also serves a range of à la carte Malay cuisine dishes. Skip the mains and opt for the charcoal-grilled chicken, mutton, and beef satays, served with ketupat (rice), sides, and peanut sauce—the perfect finger food between grilling rounds.

Price-wise, mookata ingredient costs vary by choice, but the good news is they’re currently running a value promotion—a platter for two goes for S$25, which includes chicken, beef brisket, prawns, quail eggs, and more—a solid deal to share.

Visit any day, as Power Thai BBQ opens daily from 9am to 11pm, with last orders at 10.30pm. If you’re heading down via public transport, the spot sits just a 10-minute walk from Kembangan MRT. Planning to drive? Parking options are limited, so it’s best to plan.

Either way, Power Thai BBQ makes a great choice for your next lepak session with loved ones.
