There’s no time like the present to scoot away from your responsibilities, but it’s always wiser to plan ahead. Especially when everyone’s favourite budget airline, Scoot, is making it easier to hop around Asia with new routes to Thailand and Japan.
On 12 August 2025, Scoot announced new flights to Chiang Rai in Thailand, and Okinawa and Tokyo in Japan. Flights will commence progressively between December 2025 and March 2026 (so yes, it’s time to lock in your leave for the new year).
Nature lovers will love Chiang Rai, where grand mountains meet serene rivers. It’s deeply rooted in Lanna heritage, which is reflected in the province’s architecture, cuisine, and art.
Expect five weekly flights to Chiang Rai on the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, starting from 1 January 2026.
Don’t underestimate the tropical Okinawa, which promises pristine beaches and a rich Ryukyu heritage. It’s also home to cultural and natural UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Expect three weekly flights to Okinawa on the Airbus A320 family aircraft, starting from 15 December 2025.
Tokyo needs no introduction. As the capital of Japan, touching down in Haneda Airport is the most convenient way to enter the city of sakuras, anime, and slurping good bowls of ramen.
Daily flights to Tokyo (Haneda Airport) on the Boeing 787 Dreamliners will begin on 1 March 2026.
One-way economy class fares, inclusive of taxes, start from:
- Chiang Rai (S$128)
- Okinawa (S$190)
- Tokyo, Haneda (S$190)
These new routes are already available for booking via Scoot’s website and mobile application.
Scoot has also teamed up with Pokémon for an exclusive in-flight experience. This includes specially designed themed cups and serviettes, savoury Japanese dishes, adorable merchandise, and more.
