<p>If you’ve already got <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/ah-zhong-mian-xian/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ah Zhong Mian Xian</a>,<a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/taiwan-night-market-orchard/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> TaiWan Night Market</a>, <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/draft-land-purvis-street/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Draft Land</a> and numerous <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/do-qoo-taiwanese/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Taiwanese dessert</a> spots on your list, then you may want to include <strong>Hou Lah (厚啦)</strong>, a Taiwanese cafe that specialises in <strong>street foods</strong> like <strong>thick toasts</strong> and <strong>crepes</strong>!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Helen-Ng-google-images.jpg" alt="Hou Lah" class="wp-image-73057" width="800" height="1067" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Helen-Ng-google-images.jpg 765w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Helen-Ng-google-images-225x300.jpg 225w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Helen-Ng-google-images-293x390.jpg 293w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Helen-Ng-google-images-585x780.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Helen Ng/google images</figcaption></figure>

<p>Hou Lah, which opened recently on 2 December 2023, is located along <strong>North Bridge Road</strong>, right in between <strong>Lavender, Jalan Besar and Bugis MRT Stations</strong>. They’ve come all the way from Taiwan, and originally started as pop-ups in night markets and food shows.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-8.jpg" alt="Hou Lah" class="wp-image-73058" width="800" height="1000" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-8.jpg 816w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-8-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-8-768x960.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-8-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-8-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Kelvin Ngo/google images</figcaption></figure>

<p>You might have spotted them at<strong> </strong><a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/artbox-singapore-2024/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Artbox</a> 2023 or <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/singapore-food-beverage-fair-2023-expo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Singapore Food &amp; Beverage Fair 2023</a><strong> </strong>as Hou Hou De, selling their signature buttery thick toasts that are crumbly on the outside and soft as a marshmallow on the inside. </p>

<p>But now that they’ve launched a brick-and-mortar store, you can enjoy their thick toasts any time you want!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-73066" width="800" height="1000" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1.jpg 816w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1-768x960.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Kelvin Ngo/google images</figcaption></figure>

<p>They’ve also expanded their menu with more thick toast flavours, mains and Taiwanese desserts like <strong>snow ice (from S$5.80)</strong> and more.</p>

<p>You’ll never go wrong with the <strong>Original Classic Thick Toast (S$4.80)</strong>, but I’m definitely eyeing the <strong>Earl Grey Creme Thick Toast (S$5.80)</strong>, which sees milky earl grey-infused cream stacked upon a fluffy toast before being toasted to a crispy golden brown. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-3.jpg" alt="Hou Lah" class="wp-image-73060" width="800" height="999" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-3.jpg 817w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-3-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-3-768x959.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-3-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-3-585x730.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Kelvin Ngo/google images</figcaption></figure>

<p>For that extra crunch, go for their <strong>Classic Puff Pastry Thick Toast (S$8.80) </strong>or check out their other equally delicious flavours like <strong>Cheese, Chocolate and Peanut Butter (all S$5.80)</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-5.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-73061" width="800" height="1000" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-5.jpg 816w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-5-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-5-768x960.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-5-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Kelvin-Ngo-google-images-5-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Kelvin Ngo/google images</figcaption></figure>

<p>Pair the thick toast with a cup of <strong>Mr Brown Blue Mountain Coffee (S$3.60) </strong>or <strong>Wintermelon Milk Tea (S$4)</strong> and you’ve got yourself a perfect breakfast or teatime set!</p>

<p>Alternatively, you can order their<strong> thick toast combos </strong>that comes with a soft-boiled egg and a drink (milk tea, red tea or wintermelon tea)<strong> from S$7.80</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1-1.jpg" alt="Hou Lah" class="wp-image-73070" width="800" height="1000" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1-1.jpg 816w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1-1-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1-1-768x960.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1-1-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-12-03-1-1-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Kelvin Ngo/google images</figcaption></figure>

<p>Hou Lah also offers Taiwanese crepes that are rather uncommon in Singapore. This street food delicacy is also known as <em>dan bing</em> (蛋饼), or egg crepe rolls.&nbsp;</p>

<p>They’ve got quite the range of flavours, with interesting ones like <strong>Hash Brown Taiwan Crepe (S$5.20)</strong>, a chef-recommended <strong>Fish Floss Taiwan Crepe (S$6.20) </strong>and savoury flavours like <strong>Beef (S$6.20), Cheese (S$5.20) </strong>and more.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Helen-Ng-google-images-2.jpg" alt="Hou Lah" class="wp-image-73067" width="800" height="1067" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Helen-Ng-google-images-2.jpg 765w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Helen-Ng-google-images-2-225x300.jpg 225w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Helen-Ng-google-images-2-293x390.jpg 293w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Helen-Ng-google-images-2-585x780.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Helen Ng/google images</figcaption></figure>

<p>If you’re not satisfied, why not go for their mains instead? Hou Lah won’t disappoint you with their fried Taiwanese noodles, especially their <strong>Beef with Cheese and Milk (S$9.20)</strong> that mixes creamy cheese with savoury beef, topped off with a runny fried egg.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hou Lah’s special noodles series are also highly recommended amongst seafood lovers. Try their<strong> Lala Fried Noodles (S$13.20)</strong> or <strong>Seafood Guo Shao Yi Mian (S$10.80) </strong>for some hot, flavourful soup.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Ao-Kenji-google-images.jpg" alt="Hou Lah" class="wp-image-73068" width="800" height="600" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Ao-Kenji-google-images.jpg 1360w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Ao-Kenji-google-images-300x225.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Ao-Kenji-google-images-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Ao-Kenji-google-images-768x576.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Ao-Kenji-google-images-1170x878.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Ao-Kenji-google-images-520x390.jpg 520w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Ao-Kenji-google-images-585x439.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Ao Kenji/google images</figcaption></figure>

<p>Hou Lah is pork and lard-free, so if you&#8217;re looking for the usual <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/taiwanese-food-singapore/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Taiwanese dishes</a> like braised pork rice, you won&#8217;t find them here!</p>

<p>When in doubt of what to eat, a piping hot bowl of <em>ban mian</em> is the way to go. There’s plenty of <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/ban-mian-in-singapore/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">good <em>ban mian </em>in Singapore</a>, but <strong>Madam Tyrant Handmade Noodles (霸婆手工面) </strong>that just opened in <strong>September 2023</strong> sets itself apart with its<strong> rainbow<em> mee hoon kueh</em></strong> that appeals to your eyes <em>and </em>taste buds.</p>

Handmade Noodles/facebook</figcaption></figure>

<p>Tucked away in (the aptly named) <strong>Food Tyrant Coffeeshop</strong> along <strong>Tyrwhitt Road</strong>, this noodle stall offers various selections of noodles from the classic <em>ban mian</em> to the more rarely seen<strong> koka noodles</strong>. Their soups are also praised for its richness and range from your usual pork options to luxurious bowls like <strong>Abalone (from S$14)</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/madam.tyrant-instagram-1.jpg" alt="Madam Tyrant Handmade Noodles" class="wp-image-69932" width="800" height="591" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/madam.tyrant-instagram-1.jpg 1258w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/madam.tyrant-instagram-1-300x222.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/madam.tyrant-instagram-1-1024x757.jpg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/madam.tyrant-instagram-1-768x568.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/madam.tyrant-instagram-1-1170x865.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/madam.tyrant-instagram-1-528x390.jpg 528w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/madam.tyrant-instagram-1-585x432.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: @madam.tyrant/instagram</figcaption></figure>

<p>The signature dish of Madam Tyrant however, is <strong>Happy Bowl (S$6.50)</strong>, a rainbow-coloured bowl of <em>mee hoon kueh </em>made with all natural ingredients. In your bowl of pork broth, you’ll find hand-torn pieces of chewy <em>mee hoon kueh</em> in a myriad of colours: green (spinach), yellow (pumpkin), purple (sweet potato) and red (beetroot).</p>

<p>Madam Tyrant Handmade Noodles prides themselves heavily on the “<a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/wan-xiang-ting-chai-chee/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">handmade</a>” part — even their recipes are passed down from the owner’s grandmother, so you can expect a “taste of home” in every bowl you order!</p>

<p>Another secret to their popularity is their <strong>homemade chilli sauce</strong> that has many customers coming back for more. The chilli sauce takes centre stage in their <strong>Dry series</strong>, which you can try from just <strong>S$5.30</strong>. You’ll also be able to better appreciate their thick yet springy noodles in a dry bowl.</p>

<p>If you’re willing to splurge a little more, you definitely should treat yourself to the <strong>Premium Seafood Dry Noodles (S$10.80)</strong>. Just imagine the umami combination of prawns, pacific clams, minced meat and fish mixed with the fragrant chilli sauce! As for the noodle choice, fans of the store have recommended ordering Madam Tyrant’s <em>mee hoon kueh</em> or <em>ban mian</em> as it is bouncier and chewier than most stalls.</p>

<p>Leave some space in your stomach for their crispy fried <strong>Hakka Pork Belly (S$5)</strong>, marinated in red fermented bean curd paste, or their <strong>Handmade Meatballs (S$4) </strong>that is equally flavourful.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If there’s one cuisine that Singaporeans absolutely <em>love, it is</em> Thai. But instead of having your more commonly found Thai dishes like tom yum soup, garlic pork, and moo ping, this restaurant in <strong><a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/cafe-lilac-lavender/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lavender</a></strong> has a slightly different take.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>HUE</strong> restaurant is a modern Thai dining concept along <strong>Tyrwhitt Road</strong> which serves unique Thai fusion dishes and creative cocktails that are <em>to die for.</em>&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-2-scaled.jpg" alt="HUE restaurant" class="wp-image-64800" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-2-scaled.jpg 1682w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-2-197x300.jpg 197w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-2-673x1024.jpg 673w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-2-768x1169.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-2-1009x1536.jpg 1009w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-2-1345x2048.jpg 1345w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-2-1920x2923.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-2-1170x1781.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-2-256x390.jpg 256w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-2-585x891.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 1682px) 100vw, 1682px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>In English, <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/hue-thai-restaurant-tyrwhitt-road/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">HUE</a> refers to the gradient of colours which would explain the colourful wall tiles that line the walls of the restaurant. But in Thai, HUE also means “hungry” — what a clever play on words.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-9-scaled.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-64817" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-9-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-9-300x181.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-9-1024x617.jpg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-9-768x463.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-9-1536x926.jpg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-9-2048x1235.jpg 2048w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-9-1920x1158.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-9-1170x705.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-9-585x353.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Apart from marrying food with their interior design, HUE hopes to take you on a learning journey through food with their new line-up of cocktails and bar bites. The new nibbles and tipples are made with exquisite Thai ingredients. Whether you’re a lover of sweet, spicy, or sour drinks, there’s definitely one for you on the menu.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9212_jpg-scaled.jpg" alt="HUE restaurant" class="wp-image-64790" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9212_jpg-scaled.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9212_jpg-225x300.jpg 225w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9212_jpg-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9212_jpg-300x400.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9212_jpg-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9212_jpg-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9212_jpg-1170x1560.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9212_jpg-293x390.jpg 293w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9212_jpg-585x780.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Drink-wise, they have an interesting line-up of <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/joo-chiat-oyster-house/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">cocktails</a> including the <strong>LALISA (S$18) </strong>— the Blink in me just <em>had </em>to get it. In case you didn’t get the reference, the cocktail is a nod to Lisa from <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/blackpink-the-game/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">BLACKPINK,</a> who also happens to be Thailand’s biggest artiste today.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9443.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-64818" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9443.jpg 1097w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9443-189x300.jpg 189w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9443-644x1024.jpg 644w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9443-768x1222.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9443-966x1536.jpg 966w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9443-245x390.jpg 245w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9443-585x931.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 1097px) 100vw, 1097px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>It is made with Grey Goose vodka, raspberry syrup, cranberry juice, citrus dilution and lychee to give it a tropical and fruity taste. It tasted very much like an alcoholic fruit punch so if you love sweet stuff (or Lisa), you’ll definitely love this.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Much like Lisa herself, this drink transforms into a <em>star </em>with a simple stir. Give the pretty drink a light stir and the drink magically transforms into a shimmering <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/barbie-ultimate-staycation-kuala-lumpur/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Barbie</a> pink drink. <em>And yes, </em>the glitter is safe to drink.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9239_jpg-scaled.jpg" alt="HUE restaurant" class="wp-image-64791" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9239_jpg-scaled.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9239_jpg-225x300.jpg 225w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9239_jpg-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9239_jpg-300x400.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9239_jpg-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9239_jpg-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9239_jpg-1170x1560.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9239_jpg-293x390.jpg 293w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9239_jpg-585x780.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Another equally gimmicky but just as tasty cocktail is the <strong>Bubble Pop (S$18)</strong> which is inspired by the impressive sunsets of Thailand. It is made with Mount Gay spiced rum, pineapple, lime juice, pandan cordial, and finished with a scented smoke bubble floating atop.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Theatrics aside, the drink is light and sweet with a light and refreshing hint of pineapple. It is truly stunning on your eyes and on your palette too!&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9264_jpg-2-scaled.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-64797" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9264_jpg-2-scaled.jpg 1685w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9264_jpg-2-197x300.jpg 197w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9264_jpg-2-674x1024.jpg 674w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9264_jpg-2-768x1167.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9264_jpg-2-1011x1536.jpg 1011w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9264_jpg-2-1348x2048.jpg 1348w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9264_jpg-2-1920x2917.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9264_jpg-2-1170x1778.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9264_jpg-2-257x390.jpg 257w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9264_jpg-2-585x889.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 1685px) 100vw, 1685px" /><figcaption> Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>In line with <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/national-day-2023/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">National Day</a>, HUE restaurant also has a special <strong>Nasi Lemak (S$18) </strong>cocktail which is inspired by our favourite local dish. It has a <em>pretty </em>strong coconut fragrance and taste so if you’re not a fan of coconut, maybe give this one a miss. The drink is only available from <strong>now until 13 August 2023</strong>, so make sure to give it a try while you still can.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9258_jpg-scaled.jpg" alt="HUE restaurant" class="wp-image-64793" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9258_jpg-scaled.jpg 1966w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9258_jpg-230x300.jpg 230w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9258_jpg-787x1024.jpg 787w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9258_jpg-768x1000.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9258_jpg-1180x1536.jpg 1180w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9258_jpg-1573x2048.jpg 1573w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9258_jpg-1920x2500.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9258_jpg-1170x1523.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9258_jpg-300x390.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9258_jpg-585x762.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 1966px) 100vw, 1966px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>For something that is more authentically Thai, go for the <strong>Tom Yum (S$18) </strong>which is a mix of vodka, lime juice, kaffir lime, lemongrass, fish sauce, chilli padi and Thai seaweed powder. It is a balance of sweet, sour, spicy all in one drink.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Somehow it reminded me more of the flavours of Thai mango salad than Tom Yum. This was definitely a unique concoction which I <em>might </em>consider ordering again if I’m feeling adventurous.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="648" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-7-1024x648.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-64814" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-7-1024x648.jpg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-7-300x190.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-7-768x486.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-7-1536x972.jpg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-7-2048x1297.jpg 2048w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-7-1920x1215.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-7-1170x741.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-7-585x370.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Food-wise, you’ll realise that most of the dishes here veer away from your regular Thai food offerings. But they’re still equally authentic and very flavourful. The <strong>Thai Thai Fries (S$13) </strong>feature crispy french fries tossed in in-house tom yum spice served alongside three different dressings — culantro aioli,<em> maepranom</em> (Thai chilli paste) chilli aioli, and culantro mint. And yes, we mean <em>culantro </em>(also known as Thai parsley), not cilantro, though they taste similar.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9274_jpg-scaled.jpg" alt="HUE restaurant" class="wp-image-64810" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9274_jpg-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9274_jpg-300x287.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9274_jpg-1024x979.jpg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9274_jpg-768x734.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9274_jpg-1536x1469.jpg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9274_jpg-2048x1958.jpg 2048w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9274_jpg-1920x1836.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9274_jpg-1170x1119.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9274_jpg-408x390.jpg 408w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9274_jpg-585x559.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>The <em>maerpanom </em>chilli aioli was a nice spicy mayo contrast to the smokey seasoned fries. For something more refreshing and with a sour zing, the culantro mint is an excellent dip. But, the fries are equally addictive even without any of the sauces, the perfect snack to pair with your drinks.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9216_jpg-scaled.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-64794" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9216_jpg-scaled.jpg 2099w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9216_jpg-246x300.jpg 246w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9216_jpg-839x1024.jpg 839w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9216_jpg-768x937.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9216_jpg-1259x1536.jpg 1259w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9216_jpg-1679x2048.jpg 1679w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9216_jpg-1920x2342.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9216_jpg-1170x1427.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9216_jpg-320x390.jpg 320w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/IMG_9216_jpg-585x714.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 2099px) 100vw, 2099px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Is it really a Thai restaurant if they don’t feature a dish with the iconic <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/lets-kinn-bro-bukit-timah/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MAMA noodles</a>? Well, the <strong>Mama Mia (S$21)</strong> — <em>love the punny name </em>— is HUE’s version of the famous Jeh O’ Chula TomYum MAMA noodles. The dish is chock full of ingredients like prawns, mussels, squid, and even pork balls.</p>

<p>&nbsp;I absolutely <em>loved </em>the hearty broth which is not like the usual Tom Yum soup base. Instead, it’s got a richer prawn mee-like soup base that is <em>super </em>flavourful and umami. Definitely a must-order, especially if you’re a seafood lover.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-4-1-scaled.jpg" alt="HUE restaurant" class="wp-image-64813" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-4-1-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-4-1-300x204.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-4-1-1024x697.jpg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-4-1-768x522.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-4-1-1536x1045.jpg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-4-1-2048x1393.jpg 2048w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-4-1-1920x1306.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-4-1-1170x796.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-4-1-573x390.jpg 573w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-4-1-585x398.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>The <strong>Char Moo (S$17 for 3 sticks)</strong> is a <em>zhng-ed</em> up version of your regular <em>moo ping</em>. It stars thick and juicy pork collar patties glazed in a tangy chilli sauce. The chilli sauce does pack some heat so if you&#8217;ve got a low spice tolerance, consider yourself warned.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Another equally addictive and tasty is the <strong>Three Little Pigs (S$22) </strong>which features oven roasted crispy pork belly, sauteed with garlic, coriander, and white pepper. I love the strong garlic aroma and flavours in this dish coupled with the crispy pork crackling that has been roasted to perfection. This might be the only time I find coriander <em>mildly </em>tolerable.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-scaled.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-64806" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-300x200.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-768x511.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-391x260.jpg 391w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-1536x1022.jpg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-2048x1363.jpg 2048w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-1920x1278.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-1170x779.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-585x389.jpg 585w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/hue-8-263x175.jpg 263w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Other bites worth trying include the <strong>Egg-e-egg-egg (S$19)</strong>, <strong>Prawn Me Softly (S$21)</strong>, and the <strong>Chicken Nest (S$20)</strong>. Whether you’re looking for some unique Thai food or enjoy some creative drinks, HUE restaurant is <em>the </em>place to head to. One thing’s for sure, I’m definitely making plans to return for more Mama Mia!&nbsp;</p>

<p>You might have seen the pretty purple bakes from this minimalist cafe making its rounds on social media. In case the purple hues weren&#8217;t a clear enough hint, this aesthetic cafe specialises in all things Taro. Aptly located in<strong> </strong><a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/wong-fu-fu-north-bridge-road/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Lavender</strong></a>, <strong>Cafe Lilac by Whisking Bakes</strong> is said to be the first taro cafe in Singapore and serves taro-themed cakes and pastries. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06826-scaled.jpg" alt="Cafe Lilac by Whisking Bakes" class="wp-image-59715" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06826-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06826-300x202.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06826-1024x691.jpg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06826-768x518.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06826-1536x1036.jpg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06826-2048x1381.jpg 2048w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06826-1920x1295.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06826-1170x789.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06826-578x390.jpg 578w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06826-585x395.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>The cafe is the brainchild of <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/whisking-bakes-taro-cafe-lavender/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Whisking Bakes</a> — the home-based business turned cafe best known for their <strong>taro bakes</strong> and their <strong><em>orh nee </em>tart balls</strong>. Since opening a brick and mortar shop last year, the cafe has gone through a major revamp, sporting a fresh new look and introducing more taro-centric dishes to the menu.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-scaled.jpg" alt="Cafe Lilac by Whisking Bakes" class="wp-image-59716" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-scaled.jpg 2525w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-296x300.jpg 296w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-1010x1024.jpg 1010w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-768x779.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-1515x1536.jpg 1515w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-2020x2048.jpg 2020w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-70x70.jpg 70w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-1920x1946.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-1170x1186.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-385x390.jpg 385w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06808-585x593.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 2525px) 100vw, 2525px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>The <strong>Taro Pork Floss Sando (S$5.50)</strong> was one of the dishes that really piqued my interest. It’s a sweet-savoury combination of the house-made <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/beans-factory-tanjong-pagar/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">taro</a> paste and pork floss sandwiched between two toasts. While I’m not the biggest taro fanatic, I would prefer if there was a bit more taro as the flavours were muted by the pork floss.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-scaled.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-59717" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-300x200.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-768x512.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-391x260.jpg 391w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-1920x1280.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-1170x780.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-585x390.jpg 585w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06586-263x175.jpg 263w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>For something heartier, the<strong> All Day Mini Breakfast (S$8.50). </strong>It stars two slices of toast with a house-made taro jam, along with your regular breakfast staples like mini chicken sausages, a nicely fried sunny side-up, bacon and a side of salad. The real MVP of this dish was the taro jam. It had an <em>orh nee-</em>like consistency and paired perfectly with the toasts. It also helped to balance the saltiness of the sausage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Other mains on the menu include the <strong>HK Style Nissin Noodles (S$6) </strong>and <strong>Teriyaki Chicken Breast Wrap (S$7.50).&nbsp;</strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06594-scaled.jpg" alt="Cafe Lilac by Whisking Bakes" class="wp-image-59718" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06594-scaled.jpg 2105w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06594-247x300.jpg 247w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06594-842x1024.jpg 842w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06594-768x934.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06594-1263x1536.jpg 1263w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06594-1684x2048.jpg 1684w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06594-1920x2335.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06594-1170x1423.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06594-321x390.jpg 321w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06594-585x712.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 2105px) 100vw, 2105px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Now, onto the pretty purple desserts — we were <em>super </em>excited about this. We were torn between the <strong>Taro Crepe Cake (S$8) </strong>and the <strong>Taro Choux Puff (S$8). </strong>We settled for the Taro Choux Puff which turned out to be my favourite. It had a buttery and crumbly crust — similar to a Hong Kong-style <em>bolo</em> bun. Inside was a creamy taro cream which was the perfect blend of fresh cream and taro.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06756-scaled.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-59719" width="800" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06756-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06756-300x242.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06756-1024x825.jpg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06756-768x619.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06756-1536x1238.jpg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06756-2048x1650.jpg 2048w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06756-1920x1547.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06756-1170x943.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06756-484x390.jpg 484w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DSC06756-585x471.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /><figcaption>Photo: Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>But of course, we couldn’t visit this pretty cafe without trying one of their prettiest desserts — the <strong>Taro Tartlette (S$8)</strong>. The tartlette had a nice buttery cookie crust that was not too sweet. The Taro filling was laced with tiny bits of taro — they certainly didn’t skimp on their ingredients. I wasn’t a fan of the lavender cream on it’s own as it was too overpowering for me. But, when paired with the taro filling and cookie crust, it gave it a nice creamy texture and a floral finish.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Cleanse your palette with the beautiful <strong>Taro Einspaneer (S$6.50)</strong> that is paired with a taro foam — you can also have it with regular cream, but why would you do that? There’s also a new addition to the drinks menu, the <strong>Lilac Lemonade (S$5)</strong> which is made with butterfly pea tea, soda water and lemon juice. It’s the perfect drink to perk you up on a hot and humid day, though we recommend adding a teeny bit of sugar as it can be a bit sour.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apart from a very chill ambience and serving you dishes that both look and taste good, the cafe also does not charge GST or service charge, which means the prices are nett. You also don’t have to be a taro-lover to enjoy these dishes — you might even become a convert afterwards! To quote the words written on the cafe mirror, these guys were “taro-ffic”.</p>
