Blackpink truly is the revolution having smashed multiple records in music, fashion, and now with a brand new mobile game — Blackpink The Game. In this game, you’ll get access to exclusive photos, videos, and even go behind-the-scenes to experience what it’s (somewhat) like to take the members from trainees to idols. Here’s what you can look forward to when you play the game
1. Your role
In this game, you’ll take on the role of Blackpink’s producer — or producer-nim. Your task as their producer is to make sure that the girls keep to the schedule and complete their duties for the day. You’ll also get to witness never-before-seen aspects of the team and gain access to exclusive photos of the massively popular Korean band members, videos, and more.
Unlike in real life where the girls actually have real tasks to complete, here you’ll need to complete a series of puzzles and games that will help the girls to complete their schedules.
Don’t worry, the games are pretty easy although some strategic thinking might be required. You’ll also have access to a collection of photo cards and if you successfully complete the task, you’ll earn “rewards” that will come in handy!
2. Blinky
But of course, you won’t be navigating your managerial duties on your own. You’ll be accompanied by Blinky — your trusty cat companion will be by your side providing you with helpful tips to guide you through the game.
Blinky will also help you make sure your beloved quartet becomes the global phenomenon (even in the virtual world). But be warned, Blinky does get a little bossy and it makes remarks that are, well, pretty savage.
3. Photocards
Apart from gaining access to never-before-seen aspects of the girls’ lives, the game will also grant you access to exclusive photocards!
Although, unfortunately these photocards cannot be saved but they will come in handy during the course of the game — plus you get to admire the alluring beauty of Rose, Jisoo, Jennie and Lisa, still a big win in my opinion.
The member’s photocards consist of four different stats in music, acting, fashion, and charm. The four stats will determine how many points you earn when you use the cards. To raise a card’s level, you’ll need a material called stardust which you can collect when you explore the management area.
4. Exclusive photos, video ads and a special soundtrack
If you’re a true Blink, you would have already heard the special soundtrack The Girls. But apart from the soundtrack, the game will also give you access to exclusive video ads, photos, and more. And if you’re wondering what type of exclusive photos you’ll get? Check out the official website for a small teaser.
If you’re worried about the ads being boring (and annoying), don’t be! Unlike the video ads you get in regular mobile games, the ads you get in The Game actually feature the members and ngl the ads blend in seamlessly with the game, it feels more like it’s part of the storyline rather than an ad.
5. Explore the BlackPink World
There’s plenty to do in the Blackpink World. Here, you’ll get to meet fellow blinks disguised as the different members in the game — imagine walking around in a world full of Jennies, Lisas, Roses and Jisoos.
You can even take your avatar to the game land for some fun games or bring them on a shopping spree to upgrade their wardrobe, so you can dress the girls in whatever you like — my favourite looks are the Kill This Love and How You Like That costumes!
6. Overall gaming experience
Having played the game for a few days now, I have to say that my favourite part of the game is (oddly) the video ads and the loading pages where you get exclusive content from the girls.
Blinky’s unintentionally savage remarks like “you could have done better” also adds a good laugh to the game. The graphics in this game are also spot on, although the avatars could resemble the members a little bit more.
