People People Brewery Co spans a full 10,000 sq ft and comes equipped with custom-made 1500-litre tanks. These tanks brew the beer in-house, which is served straight to diners through built-in taps, making it the freshest brew you can get in town.

Spotlighting some of its premium lagers and IPAs, the Japanese Rice Lager is currently one of its best-sellers, made with the finest short-grain rice with a crisp, clean flavour. For a more fun option, Poolside Pils (S$12) has a citrusy flavour for a more coastal vibe. The post Haidilao’s limited-time S$1 All-You-Can-Eat oyster buffet is too good to miss appeared first on Confirm Good.

Upon walking in, it seemed that the newly opened restaurant had yet to build any momentum. However, we thought that its appealing menu had the potential to do well among the younger generation. 

What immediately caught our attention was the internet sensation, Waterfall Salmon Yuzu Soba (S$50.80), a bowl of noodles made entirely of salmon sashimi. Although its price is steep, it’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime item that’s worth trying at least once.

The Compressed Watermelon (S$11.80), a yuzu ponzu-marinated watermelon topped with avocado, was also a novel item we’ve never seen anywhere else. If you’re a vegan looking for creative new recipes to try, this item is definitely for you. 

We ordered the Salmon Ikura Don (S$21.80), Sirloin Beef Steak (S$34.80), and Chicken Katsu Curry Don (S$20.80). The Salmon Ikura Don was a classic that couldn’t go wrong, with high-quality salmon and ikura that tasted fresh and flavourful over a bed of fluffy Japanese rice.

The Sirloin Beef Steak was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection, accompanied by a side of sauce, salt, garlic, and green onions that helped balance its richness.

The Chicken Katsu Curry Don was juicy and lightly breaded—crispy without being overly greasy. Poured atop the katsu, the curry was fragrant and complex, with hints of sweetness and spice, while a side of salad added a refreshing contrast to the otherwise hearty dish. Each dish also came with miso soup, which helped cleanse the palate between bites.

Overall, the quality of the dishes was definitely up to standard and appropriate for its slightly higher price point. Its menu, although limited, featured an appealing selection of dishes that were both innovative and popular. 

The restaurant is currently running an opening promotion until 30 April 2026 that lets you join a free membership for S$2 off all items and a 1-for-1 Sakeshi Salmon Collagen Soup. The savoury broth was great value for money, filled with large, generous chunks of salmon, cooked perfectly with a tender pink centre. 

Alongside the ongoing opening promotions, Sakeshi is definitely worth checking out, especially before the crowds start to catch on.

What is VE/LA ?

VE/LA (เวลา) means time in Thai. In this instance of this speciality coffee and matcha house, its signature range draws inspiration from different moments of the day, accompanied by a colour gradient. 

The first 24-hour VE/LA outlet

Speaking of time, the upcoming VE/LA in Changi Airport will be the brand’s first 24-hour café, fitting of its location.

Positioned at the intersection between Terminal 1 and Jewel, the space allows both travelers and local visitors to access the café without the need for departure.

Menu

The Singapore menu will follow a streamlined selection of items featured in VE/LA’s London branch, comprising signature speciality coffee, matcha, and craft tea. From our research, signatures we can most likely expect in Singapore include the VE/LA Airecano, Cloudy Matcha, and Kaimook Latte.

Alongside these staples, the Singapore branch will also introduce a Singapore-exclusive tea—the Kaya Toast Latte. Inspired by Singapore’s beloved classic breakfast, the drink mixes familiar local flavours with VE/LA’s aesthetic gradients. 

Of course, with every good cup of coffee comes a light bite. While the official line-up of bites has not been announced, items available in most VE/LA branches consist of: Cookie Bites, Mille Crepe Boxes, Cake Boxes, and an iconic Banana Bread. 

With coffee sourced locally in Thailand and farms around the world, Thai-grown teas harvested from acclaimed organic tea farmers in Northern Thailand, and exclusively crafted matcha from Mie, Japan—a new kind of roast is set to make waves in Singapore in the months to come.

Set in 111 Somerset, Lucine’s interior is bathed in natural light, flooding in from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Along with life-sized floral installations and stylish light fixtures, it is an ideal spot for a first date or an aesthetic meal worthy of your Instagram feed. 

Keeping its menu relevant, the upgraded selections are inspired by the latest food trends, such as the Korean Spicy Marinated Egg, which is a jammy soft-boiled egg. They also cater to the local palate with creations like the Laksa Pasta, alongside other favourites like a Carbonara Chicken Pasta and Pan-Seared Salmon rice bowls. 

Don’t forget to check out classic selections like the Grilled Cheese Sandwich (S$12.90), and try to recreate the iconic cheese pull. For a vegetarian option, their Tofu Katsu Sandwich (S$10.90) will be a satisfying, protein-packed option, leaving you feeling satiated but not heavy. 

The highlight of this eatery, however, has to be its petite cakes. Signatures include a unique Tofu cake (S$8.50), which has a silky mousse-filled centre with hazelnut and buckwheat, supported by a sablé biscuit base. Alternatively, it also offers a more decadent Chocolate Rocher Petite (S$8.80) and an Orh Nee Cake Petite (S$8.50). 

A good dessert always deserves a good beverage, and Lucine’s speciality lattes are made just for that. The Tiramisu Latte (S$8.50), for example, is a creamy, chocolaty drink that’s almost as indulgent as the cakes. The café also serves an Affogato (S$8) if you need an escape from Singapore’s sweltering weather.

So if you’re craving a halal-friendly brunch spot that serves up good food and good aesthetics, Lucine will not disappoint. With all dishes under S$20, it’s almost too good to be true!

At the newest branch of MODU High, the restaurant brings its comforting signature broth comprising ginseng, jujube, garlic, and more to the hustling CBD. 

Appetisers and Shareables

Starting with appetisers, we were greeted with three dishes: steamed eggplant in soy sauce, ginger and ginseng in honey, and fresh tomatoes in chilli oil. While the combination might sound unfamiliar, don’t be afraid to dig in and experience a different (and acquired) side of Korean cuisine!

We also tried the restaurant’s Mung Bean Pancake (S$16), which is made by grinding soaked mung beans, adding vegetables and meat and pan-frying it into a round, flat shape. We 100% recommend dipping the pancake in the sauce, as we did find the pancake a little plain for our liking. 

Samgyetang

While MODU High’s samgyetang menu boasts twelve signature variations, we tried the classic Yang Vitality (S$52) samgyetang and a new item, Truffle (S$48) samgyetang.

Each samgyetang comes in a set comprising radish kimchi, in-house red dipping sauce, salt and pepper, minari salad, and glutinous rice. The best part of it all? These side dishes and condiments are all refillable! Adding on to the authentic experience of indulging in samgyetang, a small cup of soju will also be given to mix with this herbal broth. 

Opening the tender steamed chicken submerged in rich broth, we loved how easy it was to peel tender meat off the bone. Not to mention our pleasant surprise to see a scoop of shiny glutinous rice in the chicken, as we thought our side plate of glutinous rice would be all.

Dubbed the “super‑food” bowl, the Yang Vitality samgyetang pairs the classic broth with Yagwanmun—a rare Korean herb celebrated for liver support—and an extra dose of ginseng. As for the Truffle, you’ll have black truffle grinded in front of you, adding a more performative experience to your meal. Once mixed in the soup, the truffle remains an underlying flavour, allowing MODU High’s 12-hour broth to still shine. 

Dessert

At the end of our meal, the delicate dessert of cinnamon yakgwa (Korean honey cookie) and jujube tea (S$20) was served. 

If we were to compare it to a relatable dish, the yakgwa tasted like churros! Sweet and punchy, it felt like we were eating churros in a pretty biscuit form. As for the jujube tea, we imagined this to be compatible with heavy lovers of herbal ingredients, as we did find it a little bitter—much like any other herbal ingredient.

Bring the packet back to your table and cook it up with meats, vegetables, or even kimchi, garlic, and chilli to create your own delicious recipe.

Other sides you can look forward to are the japchae—a Korean stir-fried starchy noodle—and even tteokbokki—the famous rice cake soaked in a delicious gochujang sauce, subject to availability. 

Don’t forget to fill your table with kimchi, pickled radishes, fish cakes, and other banchans. For the most authentic bite, we recommend wrapping a piece of meat in lettuce, topping it with sauces and sides for the ultimate crunchy savoury bite. For less than S$20, this experience is an absolute steal. 

Although it’s heartbreaking to see Koggii go, this final promotion is a fitting send-off for a restaurant that’s brought such an exciting twist to the Korean food scene. From the creative cai fan concept to its generous, affordable buffets, it’s been a go-to for a casual but delicious meal.
