A Facelift to Reflect Singapore

Did you know? Pokémon Center SINGAPORE’s renewal works since 1 April 2026 mark the first full-scale renovation of a Pokémon Center outside of Japan. And the result is a reimagined store that captures Singapore’s unique heritage.

The first thing visitors will notice when approaching the new storefront is legendary Pokémon, Solgaleo, welcoming them with a majestic aura. Solgaleo is the new symbol for Pokémon Center SINGAPORE, very fitting for a country nicknamed the Lion City.

Beyond the facade, the interiors of Pokémon Center SINGAPORE will also feature elements that will feel familiar to Singaporeans. There will definitely be multiple photo opportunities to find as you explore and shop in the upgraded space. 

New Commemorative Merchandise

“Is that Pikachu with a durian?!” Yes, and we love it. To celebrate the reopening of Pokémon Center SINGAPORE, a series of Special Edition merchandise will be released. Many of these products will feature Pokémon alongside iconic Singaporean landscapes and items. 

There will be 20 new products in total, with 12 going on sale at the grand reopening. The remaining merchandise will be launched at a later date in August.

Visitor Information

As you would expect, there will be a lot of fans who will want to get their hands on these new goodies the moment they drop. Many would also be interested to check out the new event space in the store, where future video game and trading card game (TCG) events will be held. 

To manage the crowd and demand, Pokémon Center SINGAPORE will be implementing advanced reservations and same-day queue entry tickets for the first five days of the grand reopening. 

To gain admission to the store, you will need to submit a Store Visit Application online or get a same-day queue entry ticket on-site. More details about the former will be shared by Pokémon Singapore on their Instagram page, while the latter will be distributed daily from 8.30am, on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you’re going for something more edgy, Yeknomonster’s art style may be more your jam. Featuring a chaotic blend of pop surrealism and grungy doodles on keychains, mugs, and stickers, it’s the perfect accessory for those who prefer a different kind of aesthetic. 

Tembusu Games

Board game enthusiasts, keep an eye out for Tembusu Games at Hobbies Fair 2026. Known for creating interactive games and workshops inspired by local culture and heritage, the studio blends education with plenty of fun through hands-on gameplay experiences. Visitors can expect unique, exclusive board games and a space to meet and connect with fellow enthusiasts.

Artisan Keycap Making – Mahjong Wind Tile Edition By Artzei Studio

The Irish comics artist built a large social media following for his raw depictions of life through his dog and frog characters—whether it’s small interactions, quiet musings on a lazy afternoon, or simply appreciating the mundane moments. 

The exhibit invites viewers to appreciate life as it is, without the burden of proving their worth through productivity and accomplishments — a stark contrast to the Singaporean mindset. It reminds us to embrace the moments of lethargy and moody days, as it’s part and parcel of the human experience. 

The exhibition will take place at Heartware Store and Gallery, a cosy space tucked among the shophouses along Joo Chiat Road. Alongside the artworks, visitors can also look forward to exclusive merchandise and an artist talk by Niall Breen himself. Fans can even bring home a piece of the exhibition with woven throws featuring Niall Breen’s illustrations, available in two designs. However, stocks are limited, so move quickly if you want to snag one!

Furthermore, you can also glimpse into the creative mind of Niall Breen during the Artist Talk on 30 May 2026 from 3pm to 4pm. Flying in all the way from Ireland, this is a rare chance to hear directly from the artist himself. While registrations are already full, walk-ins are still welcome — though seats are limited and standing may be required.

If you’re looking for a slower, more reflective experience in Singapore’s fast-paced city life, Lazy Days with Dog & Frog offers a comforting reminder that its ok to just pause. With heartfelt artworks, exclusive collectables, and a rare artist appearance, this cosy Joo Chiat exhibition is one worth adding to your calendar before it ends on 26 July 2026.

Children’s Festival featuring Disney’s Winnie the Pooh is taking place from 30 May to 21 June at Supertree Grove. Admission is free, and your kids will get to enjoy a range of activities. Here are some highlights to look forward to.

Winnie the Pooh-themed installations and activities

The first highlight of this year’s Children’s Festival is that it features Winnie the Pooh. The festival is themed around the iconic bear and his friends, celebrating 100 years of friendships, curiosity, kindness, and the simple joys of life. 

There will be numerous themed installations for kids to explore, play, and take photos at. The Hundred Acre Glide, for example, will allow kids to go on Singapore’s first Winnie the Pooh-themed zipline and soar with the Supertrees in the background. This installation, inspired by the Hundred Acre Wood from Winnie the Pooh, will also provide many photo opportunities.

Other installations inspired by the different characters include The Sweetest Drops, The Joyful Puddle, and The Brave Logs. The first is a honeycomb-themed ball pit inspired by Pooh’s favourite snack, while the others are inspired by Tigger and Piglet, featuring bouncy trampolines and balancing planks.

Carnival activities and pop-ups

If you thought that was all the fun, think again! The Children’s Festival will also feature carnival-style activities. Kids can collect a complimentary activity booklet at the redemption counter and visit 5 Hunny Collection stations to gather ‘hunny’. Afterwards, they can use it to redeem an exclusive Disney’s Winnie the Pooh sticker sheet.

There will also be carnival games, a retail pop-up, and a cafe pop-up (on weekends only). After a day of fun, you can bring home merchandise only available at the Children’s Festival, including a set of plushies that reimagines the Pooh characters as local food items.

Also, at select timings on Saturdays, keep your eyes peeled for Pooh’s Grand Friendship Party — an inflatable march featuring music and 7-metre-tall inflatables of Winnie the Pooh and friends. Snap photos and make lots of memories.

Free admission to Flower Dome

If you are thinking of having a full day out at Gardens by the Bay with your kids and want to slot in a more ‘adult-friendly’ activity into your itinerary, consider visiting Flower Dome.

During the entire duration of the Children’s Festival, kids 12 and under get to enter the iconic dome with pretty flowers for free. You just need to snap a photo of your children enjoying themselves at the festival and present it at the Flower Dome entrance to redeem this free admission for them.

In the same period of the Children’s Festival, a special exhibition will also be held at Flower Dome. Blue Beauties takes visitors back to the golden age of the Ottoman Empire, bringing in over 30 varieties of blue and purple hydrangeas. 

Recreations of iconic buildings such as the Topkapı Palace and the Maiden’s Tower will also thrust you into the world of ancient Türkiye. This is an added perk for those of you considering going to the Flower Dome with your kids.

While admission to the Flower Dome is free for kids, standard admission tickets still need to be purchased for all adults present. However, if you are visiting Gardens by the Bay between 8–21 June, look out for a bundle deal that includes tickets to Disney Garden of Wonder and Blue Beauties, for just S$20 for adults.

Bundles purchased at Gardens by the Bay’s ticketing counters will also come with a complimentary shuttle service between Floral Fantasy and Flower Dome, where the two mentioned exhibitions will be.

For 60 minutes, you’ll have unlimited access to a premium durian spread featuring Mao Shan Wang, Black Thorn, King of King, Red Prawn, D24, and D13. 

Alongside the durian, you’ll get up to 300g of fresh mangosteen and a fresh coconut. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, these hydrating fruits can counteract the “heaty” effects of durian, which can cause symptoms such as a sore throat when overconsumed.

Mao Shan Wang

Durian lover or not, you’ve probably heard of Mao Shan Wang, given its insane popularity in Singapore. This type of durian is well-loved for its rich, honey-like flavour, with a good hint of bitterness to balance it out. Its texture is smooth and almost custard-like, making it an incredibly indulgent treat. 

Black Thorn

Rivalling the Mao Shan Wang, Black Thorn is a close second in terms of popularity and prestige. It’s known for its deep orange-red flesh and complex flavour profile — starting with an explosion of intense sweetness, that slowly evolves into a bitter aftertaste, similar to dark chocolate. Like Mao Shan Wang, it has an indulgent, creamy and almost custard-like texture that’s nothing short of addictive. 

King of Kings

King of Kings is a premium Mao Shan Wang variety harvested from older trees, giving it a richer aroma and more pronounced flavour profile. Rather than being overly sweet, it carries an intense bittersweet fragrance with a lingering aftertaste. It’s also known for its thick, luscious flesh that’s slightly sticky yet melts in the mouth.

Red Prawn  

The Red Prawn takes its name from its distinct pinkish hues and curved shape. It has a dominantly sweet flavour with a slight alcoholic finish, and is categorised as one of the sweetest varieties. It has a sticky, rich flesh and is suitable for people with a sweeter tooth.

D24 and D13

D24 is known as a “beginner-friendly” durian, due to its milder, less overwhelming flavour profile. It has a thicker, softer flesh which could be described as moist. Flavour-wise, while not as intense, it still has hints of vanilla and alcoholic bittersweetness. 

The D13 is largely similar to the Red Prawn variety, with an intense sweet flavour and little to no bitter aftertaste. It also works great as an introductory variety due to its milder aroma and sweet floral flavour. 

Tickets and pricing 

The buffet costs S$85 per person. However, until 12 June 2026, they are having an early-bird promotion of S$20 off a set of 2 tickets (S$150/2 pax). The buffet is also eligible for CDC Vouchers with in-store bookings at the FairPrice Customer Service.

The name of the store is derived from the Chinese words “陌” and “迹”, which mean “first impressions” and “lingering”, respectively. It highlights the café’s philosophy of being a space where people can slow down, find stillness, and soak in their environment. 

The 2-storey store is furnished with wood-panelled floors, windows and furniture, giving it a calming, earthy appearance. One of its most unique features is the display of beautiful, hand-crafted ceramic pieces, which are available for purchase. Each piece is intentionally modelled to represent seasons and festivals within the Chinese calendar.

Menu

Their menu is just as interesting, featuring a range of speciality coffees and desserts that are made fresh each day. Some signature drinks include Salted Cocoa Latte(S$12.80), Black Sesame Vienna(S$12.80), Hojicha Vienna(S$11.80), and more. 

Meanwhile, dessert selections feature inventive creations like the Cotton Cheesecake (S$12.80), presented in cheesecloth, resembling freshly strained cheese. Another interesting creation is its Soy Milk Cheesecake (S$14.80), which is a must-get if you’re a regular soy milk drinker. 

The Matcha Strawberry Cheesecake (S$15.80) also deserves the spotlight for its clean aesthetic, with fresh strawberries lining the cross-section, covered with an airy matcha mousse.

And the best part — you can pick out your own ceramic cup or plate for your food. This small interactive touch goes a long way in making the experience feel more personal and intimate.

adidas Pet Collection for 2026 FIFA World Cup

This is probably one of the main highlights of FurKids Fiesta — the highly anticipated debut of adidas’ first-ever pet collection. It features adorable designs that are essentially mini versions of the 2026 FIFA World Cup jerseys.

If you are a pet owner gearing up for the World Cup, you can now match in style with your furry companion in your favourite team jerseys. Currently, the pet collection launched in Singapore features Japan and Argentina kits, which cost S$49 each.

There are also bandanas (S$25), collars (S$79), and other accessories available for purchase. Exclusively at FurKids Fiesta, every purchase of bandanas also comes with free Vinyl Heat Press customisation.

adidas is not the only brand you will find at Fountain Square at CQ @ Clarke Quay. Brands like Get Nibblin, TAKI Pets, and The Barkery Singapore will be offering treats that will keep your pets well-fed and healthy. Another highlight of FurKids Fiesta is the line-up of expert sessions designed to support you as a pet owner. This includes Pet CPR Educational Demonstrations and How to Choose Candles & Home Fragrances That Are Safer For Your Pet.

It serves authentic Greek cuisine that’ll whisk you right onto the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The highlight of the restaurant is its fresh catch. Choose between 4 types of fish — Lavraki, Greek Seabass (S$14/100g), Tsipoura, Greek Seabream (S$14/100g), Fagri, Greek Red Porgy (S$15/100g), and Milopoki, Greek Stone Bass (S$15/100g). For an additional S$15, you can have it salt-baked — an ancient cooking technique where fish is baked in a thick layer of salt for a tender, flavourful finish.

Cafe Mary Grace 

Jollibee has long been hailed as the figurehead for Filipino food in Singapore. But that reign has now been challenged with the opening of Cafe Mary Grace’s first-ever store in Singapore. The café is a well-loved chain in the Philippines that has expanded to 140 locations ever since its first physical store opened in 2002. As the bakery makes its international debut, here’s what to look forward to at the cafe. 

The café’s selection of sweet and savoury pastries reinforces a “home away from home” identity with its home-made style and presentation. Their most popular items include the fluffy Ensaymadas (S$5.50), Cheese Rolls (S$4.30), and a rich, creamy Hot Chocolate (S$7.50). 

The savoury selection is equally appetising, with hearty fare like the Angus Beef Tapa (S$25.50) and Grilled Chicken Inasal Focaccia (S$19.50).

Shin Terroir 

Set along a row of beautifully restored shophouses on Tras Street, Shin Terroir is a discreet dining destination, hidden from the chaotic bustle of hurried commuters. Its simple wooden door, set against a whitewashed wall, appears modest and unassuming from the outside—yet the moment you step through, it’s like entering a different realm. Beyond lies an elegant, contemporary Japanese grill restaurant that feels sophisticated, yet warm and inviting.

Helmed by Chef Takeshi Nakayama, the restaurant evolved from a traditional Omakase format to an à la carte offering, lowering the barrier to entry and inviting a more accessible dining experience—while preserving the same standards of craft and precision.

This also gives guests greater freedom to shape their own dining experience rather than adhering to a pre-selected menu. Some highlights include A5 Wagyu Beef Tartare (S$28), Oyakodon (S$16), Ramen (S$18), and Seasonal Seafood Donabe (S$32), alongside other small plates.

Shin Terroir takes a modern approach to Japanese grill; the Yakitori here combines innovation with traditional techniques. Each ingredient is carefully selected by their head chef and grilled with precision for the best flavours and quality.

While the experience maintains its luxurious feel from its Omakase days, the price point makes it a reasonable go-to spot in the CBD. Signature skewers start from just $6, while Hokkaido-inspired small plates begin at $8, making it one of the most compelling value propositions. If you’re looking for a casual midweek indulgence, this place has all the quality without the formality of a traditional Omakase spot.

Complementing the food is an extensive beverage programme. Shin Terroir is one of the few restaurants in Singapore to carry the full range of Aramasa Sake, alongside a wine selection that highlights Burgundy and Champagne.

The experience is expanded with a cocktail menu with classic and contemporary selections designed to pair seamlessly with the grilled fare. Highlights include Whisky Honey ($18), Kyuri ($18), Matcha Sour ($28), Lemon Chu-Hi ($20), Highball ($18), and Oolong-Hi ($16).

Located in the heart of the CBD, Chico Loco is one spot you’ll want to bookmark for your next TGIF gathering. It sells flavourful Mexican fare that’s great for sharing but can also be enjoyed individually. As Singapore’s unpredictable weather takes a turn for the worse, this recently opened affogato store could not have popped up at a timelier moment. Between the sweltering heat and our crippling coffee addiction, AiFOKATO is set up for success. The cosy wood-panelled space invites you in with its viral treats such as the -86 Coffee and Butter Mochis from Korea. 

Spotlighting the signature Affogato, it’s sold with a DIY concept that lets you create up to 12 flavour combinations. Four gelato flavours: Madagascar Vanilla Gelato, Premium Korean Matcha Gelato, Callebaut Dark Chocolate Gelato, and lastly its signature Premium Pistachio Gelato—and three hot pours: Espresso, Hot Chocolate, and Matcha Pour. Their gelato is made egg-free and gluten-free, with clean, mellow flavours that can balance out the intensity of the espresso.

Noci Bakehouse

Korea has been killing it in every department lately—from beauty to pop culture to food, they’ve established a dominating presence on all fronts. And the latest craze to hit the Singapore markets is none other than Korean baked goods. Located in Suntec City, Noci Bakehouse is a new Korean cafe serving European-inspired breads, pastries, and other brunch selections.

The bakery rotates through 25 breads, so you’ll get the chance to try something new every time you visit. Some must-get items if you stop by are the Castella Milk Cream Salt Bread (S$5.50)—a buttery, airy dough, filled generously with sweet milky cream; Crème BrûléeDanish (S$8.50)—a French pastry topped with a crunchy caramelised layer, and the French Toast (S$15)—served with a caramelised base and soft custardy centre.

Kazbar 

It’s about time Middle Eastern cuisine got a little more love in Singapore. Fresh, hearty, and packed with fragrant spices, it’s an ideal choice for a casual yet indulgent meal. Kazbar is one cosy spot to satisfy those cravings, complete with warm lighting, laidback vibes, and a delicious aroma of charcoal-grilled meats filling the space.

A greener menu

The new menu features 3 new items: a Loaded Salad Bowl (S$7.85), a Side Salad Cup (S$4.45), and a Corn Cup (S$3.25), available à la carte and as a meal. 

The Loaded Salad Bowl will be served with succulent chicken bites over a bed of fresh lettuce with cherry tomatoes and sweet corn for extra freshness and sweetness. You can choose between 2 dressing options: a Kewpie black vinegar onion for some tartness, or a Caesar dressing for added richness and creaminess.

For those tracking their nutrition, the bowl is about 309kcals, with an impressive 19g of protein and 1g of fibre, perfect for hitting those daily protein goals. It’s also available as a meal with either plain water or apple juice for S$8.95.  

If you’re worried you can’t fill up on salads alone, add-ons are available with all orders of the Loaded Salad Bowl and Garden Side Salad. You can get a piece of Chicken Tender for S$1.95, a whipped potato for S$1.50, or a medium mac and cheese for S$2.95. 

However, if you want to go all out and indulge in fried chicken, then the side salad or corn cup is a perfect option to balance the meal while still getting your daily dose of greens and fibre.

Interactive installations

One of the highlights of i Light Singapore 2026 is the interactive artworks and installations. Visitors are welcome not just to take photos of the captivating displays but also to be part of creating the art they see.

Let’s Fish the Sun!

One of the displays I would love to check out is Let’s Fish the Sun! by Wentao Wang, located at Marina Bay Lower Boardwalk. Apparently, you will be able to “reel in” the sun with a fishing rod and “reverse” the sunset. I guess this artwork is perfect for those of us who never wake up early enough to catch the sunrise.

Infinite Graffiti

It’s probably going to be chaotic if I get involved, since I can’t draw. But for those of you who can, Infinite Graffiti by Graffiti+ will be the perfect canvas to express your creativity. Well, even if you only think you can draw, just give it a try!

Located at the entrance of Marina Bay Link Mall, this five-metre-long digital graffiti wall is where visitors can use sensor-activated spray cans to create graffiti together according to their imagination.

Artwork by local design talents 

I am proud to ‘support local’ when it comes to appreciating the work of Singaporean creatives. Because who else can capture the Singapore spirit with art better than them? 

Steps

When walking along the Marina Boulevard waterfront during i Light Singapore 2026, be sure to keep a lookout for Steps by Nawal Bte Azhar. This set of glowing staircases symbolises Singapore’s progress and our nation’s continuing story.

Market Cycles

Another installation to explore is Market Cycles by Tan Mei Yee and Ng Choon Wee. Situated at the Mist Walk, this light display utilises everyday wet market plastic crates to form an immersive luminous artwork. Talk about finding beauty in the ordinary.

Festival Village 

GastroBeats 2026

In case you missed it, GastroBeats is making its return to Bayfront Event Space from 5 to 28 June as part of i Light Singapore’s festival village. Bringing together food, music and sports, this will be a great place to wind down, chill and dine after exploring i Light Singapore 2026.
