Call me shallow but I love taking photos of my cocktails. Not every cocktail, of course, but I do go the extra mile to ensure the good-looking ones are captured in all their glory.
You’ll surely catch me doing that at Franca, a modern Italian restaurant in Bangkok. While the restaurant specialises in serving up delicious steaks, they’ve recently gone viral on social media for a whole other reason.
As you might have guessed, it’s their eye-catching cocktails that have everyone talking. By ordering from their Create Your Own Cocktail menu, you can design your one-of-a-kind tipple.
You’ll start by selecting from three cocktail base options, all priced at S$15.05 (390 THB): Summer in Como, Postcards from Rome, and Tuscan Sunset.
All the drinks tend to be zesty and refreshing (perfect for the Bangkok heat!) but let’s dive into the specifics.
Summer in Como features blueberry-infused vodka mixed with peach and lemon, whereas Postcards from Rome has saffron-infused rum with lychee and yuzu.
If you love limoncello just as much as I do, you’ll get the Tuscan Sunset with its red grape-infused gin, aperol, and as suspected, limoncello.
Complete your DIY cocktail by choosing the design. You can either go for Franca’s own designs or customise your own for an additional S$3.09 (80 THB).
Their designs include floral art, a ribbon (for all my coquette girlies out there), a bunch of birthday greetings and even self-love quotes.
For the custom option, you can add your name — or any text you like — and choose from five background designs.
Now, all that’s left is to wait for your custom cocktail to be prepared. Take this time to mentally prepare yourself for the plenty of photos you’ll be taking!
As mentioned above, Franca also offers a selection of steaks and classic Italian dishes like pasta and risotto. Feel free to pair your cocktail with these bites or just enjoy it solo.
