Been seeing videos of an IKEA photobooth making its way around social media?
If you’re on a journey to snap your way through all the self-photo studios in Singapore, you’ll be happy to know that this viral photobooth concept has finally arrived in Singapore, at IKEA Alexandra!
This is not your typical compact photobooth with privacy panels. Instead, it is a Snap and print kiosk that encourages visitors to “frame [their] moments”. You can choose to either snap photos (like a regular photobooth), or upload and print your own photos via a QR code.
The process is fairly simple — you have just four shots, each with a five second interval (which is pretty short, so plan ahead before posing), but if you’re not satisfied with any, or all, of them, feel free to retake your shots.
Afterwards, choose your filter (colour, sepia, B&W), and start decorating each photo with as many stickers as you like! You’ll probably recognise the stickers, some of which feature iconic IKEA food like chicken wings, hot dogs, and meatballs, as well as popular soft toys — BLÅHAJ (shark), GOSIG GOLDEN (golden retriever), or BLÅVINGAD (octopus), anyone?
There are three different photo sizes to choose from:
- 10x15cm for S$0.50
- 13x18cm for S$1
- 21x30cm for S$2
These are probably the most affordable photo prints you can find in Singapore, though the lack of soft copies isn’t the most ideal.
Although the prints (you can print 10 copies per photo) may take a while to process, they are Fujifilm prints, so you can expect em’ to be of good quality.
Let’s hope IKEA rolls out more photobooth concepts at all their stores in Singapore! Till then, you’ll have to travel down to Alexandra.
