Think fast: What is the most common dish ordered at cai fan stalls?
If you guessed sweet and sour pork, you’re right! McDonald’s is releasing two new burgers based on that dish — trust McDonald’s to make your favourite cai fan dish even more enjoyable.
McDonald’s all new burger is inspired by everyone’s favourite sweet and sour sauce and will have a chicken and fish variation. The new burgers will be available from 28 December 2023, so instead of queuing for cai fan you can queue for this instead!
The Sweet ‘N Sour Fish Burger (from S$7.70) features crispy fish patties, paired with sweet and sour sauce topped with aromatic crispy shallots — sounds super yummy. We reckon sweet and sour fish lovers will certainly enjoy this one.
McDonald’s Sweet ‘N Sour Chicken Burger (from S$7) will feature crispy chicken with sweet and sour sauce sandwiched between glazed buns, a pineapple slice and crispy shallots — consider me sold. I was never really a fan of sweet and sour pork (don’t come for me) but I’m looking forward to trying this burger.
That’s not all that McDonald’s is releasing. They’re also releasing an all-new Ha! Chicken Drumlets (from S$3.40). Any guesses which local favourite these drumlets were inspired by? That’s right, ha cheong gai or prawn paste chicken — my favourite!
As its name suggests, the chicken drumlets are coated in a perfectly seasoned prawn paste with a super crispy skin.
Along with the two burgers and drumlets, McDondald’s will also be releasing an all-new and very refreshing Pineapple Coconut Frappé (from S$4.70). The drink is bursting with tangy tropical flavours that will make you feel like you’re vacationing on a tropical island — perfect for the post-holiday vibes we’re in now.
Once again, the all-new McDonald’s sweet and sour burgers, Ha! Chicken Drumlets, and Pineapple Coconut Frappé will be available from 28 December at McDonald’s outlets islandwide. Remember to save the date if you wanna be the first in line!
