Board game cafes have been pretty popular lately, especially if you’re looking for a place to chill with your besties without having to spend too much. There’s a new contender in town that lets you play a myriad of board and console games, and cuddle with chonky little kitties at the same time
You might have seen or heard of the name ME Cafe & Game located along Tanjong Pagar. You’d be pleased to know that they’ve opened an outlet in Orchardgateway. This time, with a glamping theme and five adorable little kitties — yes, a cat cafe in town, who would’ve thought!
The new indoor game cafe sports a glamping theme complete with tents and fairy lights. There are even fake shrubs and a “moon” light hanging from the ceiling to simulate the vibes of an actual glamping experience.
Me Cafe & Games has smaller tents that can accommodate up to four, as well as larger tents to accommodate bigger groups.
The tents come equipped with a TV as well as gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch for you to battle it out on the big screen. The TV also has Netflix for you to catch up on the latest drama happening on Single’s Inferno. Make sure to grab some snacks to munch on while enjoying your favourite shows.
Much like the outlet in Tanjong Pagar, Me Cafe & Games OrchardGateway has a wide selection of board games. You can expect to find your favourites like Saboteur, Catan, Singaporean Dream and Cards Against Humanity.
But of course, there’s nothing quite as fun as One Night Werewolf — this is where your friendship and loyalty to one another will really be tested.
The best part, the game cafe also has cats casually roaming and lounging around waiting for you to pet them during your game.
According to the staff, the cats love cuddles, so go all out and cuddle with them as much as you want. Currently, there are a total of five resident cats roaming around the space. Don’t worry, they’re super friendly and welcoming, so if you need some consolation after losing the games, you know where to head to.
There are tables inside the cat area so you can bring your board games inside to play with the kitties too. Imagine playing exploding kittens with actual kittens — talk about taking the gaming experience to the next level.
Price-wise, the Basic Campout costs S$18.80 per pax for the first hour and S$10 for each subsequent hour. The Basic Campout package lets you cuddle with the kittens and play board games. Trust me, one hour isn’t enough time to cuddle the kittens alone.
There’s also the Ultimate Campout for S$20.80 for the first hour and each subsequent hour costing S$12. You’ll get the tent experience, complete with access to both board and console games, and of course, the kittens.
And if you come before 6pm on Mondays to Thursdays, you can enjoy an additional 10 percent discount. Me Cafe & Game OrchardGateway is also currently having an opening special of just S$10 per pax for the first hour of the Basic Campout, and S$12 per pax for the Ultimate Campout.
The opening special ends on 21 January 2024, so make sure to enjoy it while you still can! The best part is, they’re open to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays — the perfect way to celebrate TGIF.
