If you’ve visited the night markets in Thailand, chances are you’re familiar with the sight of buckets of seafood covered in rich, savoury sauce being poured onto a plastic sheet on the table. Truly, it’s almost every seafood lover’s dream.

The good news is you won’t have to fly all the way there to try this delicious dish. For affordable Thai-style seafood shellout right here in Singapore, head to the aptly-named Seafood Bucket. The popular eatery, started by a Muslim-Thai couple, just opened their second branch at Peninsula Shopping Centre after the success of their first outlet at Golden Mile Complex late last year.

Dig into the Couple Bucket (S$38), a generous spread of flower crabs, crayfish, prawns, scallops, squid, mussels, and clams that’s more than enough to feed two. The seafood is tossed in one of three sauces: choose from either the Dry Tomyum Sauce, Green Curry Sauce, or the SB Signature Sauce.
True to Thai night market-style, the metal bucket of seafood is emptied onto wax paper that lines the table, and you’ll be given gloves to tuck in too.

Besides their seafood buckets, the diner also serves a range of individual seafood dishes that you should definitely try. The Grilled Jumbo River Prawn (S$12) is fresh, juicy, and absolutely slathered in buttery goodness.
If fresh seafood is more your thing, go for the Thai Style Oysters (S$22). What’s unique about this is that the oysters are served with kaffir lime wedges instead of the typical lemon, and come with fried shallots and Thai sauces on the side.

Once done, end your meal on a sweet note with classic Thai desserts such as Thai Chendol (S$5) or Mango Sticky Rice (S$5) — or go for the Thai Milk Tea Iced Blend (S$4), the diner’s take on a familiar Thai drink.
So if you find yourself missing Thailand’s night market street food — or if you just love seafood in general — check out Seafood Bucket!
