This restaurant is the first in Singapore to cook their meat over a massive old-school Korean cauldron serving Dak Galbi, Beef Large Intestine, Pork BBQ Platter, and more

As someone who has spent way too many hours binge-watching Korean variety shows (Running Man, Family Outing fans, where you at?), I’ve seen the iconic gamasot make an appearance more times than I can count.

And now, we can finally experience it for real in Singapore, right here in Sot!

Sot is the newest Korean restaurant in Telok Ayer, bringing the gamasot to life. If you’re wondering what that is, it’s a massive, old-school Korean cauldron that has been used in traditional Korean cooking for over 600 years.

Instead of the usual BBQ grill, Sot cooks their meats and stews on a gigantic pot lid placed over drum barrels, the first in Singapore. No need to fly to Korea for the experience!

Think of it as Korean BBQ, but with extra flair. The pot lid acts as the grill, distributing heat evenly and locking in all the smoky, charred goodness.

Starting from S$60, Dak Galbi is the ultimate Korean comfort food.

This spicy, stir-fried chicken dish is loaded with juicy chicken chunks, soft potatoes, crunchy veggies, and chewy rice cakes, all drenched in a rich gochujang-based sauce.

Fun fact, while galbi means ribs, Dak Galbi doesn’t actually contain any ribs. The name came about post-war, when chicken was used as a more affordable substitute for pork ribs.

But hey, no complaints, it’s still just as hearty and delicious.

And, if you’re here for the KBBQ experience, you’re in for a feast

The premium cuts are top-notch. And yes, they serve beef intestines.

Feeling a little adventurous? Beef Large Intestine (S$120) is a true Korean delicacy, tender and packed with smoky, grilled goodness.

On the other hand, the Beef Platter Set (S$120) features beef brisket, sirloin, and LA galbi, plus an assortment of Korean side dishes, perfect for sharing.

Pork BBQ Platter (S$90) also includes pork belly, pork jowl, and pork collar, all grilled to juicy perfection in front of you.

Also, nothing washes down a sizzling BBQ feast better than an ice-cold Snow Beer (S$14). This isn’t just any beer. It’s topped with bingsu-like shaved ice, making it extra crisp, frosty, and easy to down.

So, who’s ready to fire up the grill and dig in?
