Honestly, what’s up with all these camping themes popping up everywhere lately? From the Avery-Day convenience store in City Square to the OutLine cafe, more and more food spots are bringing the great outdoors inside.

This trend is showing no signs of ending as there’s now a camping-themed outdoor food park situated once again in JB. What’s great is that it’s just a 15 minutes walk away from KSL City Mall, so you can pop by once you’re done with your hair or nail session.

The CaMp 4Season Outdoor Park is decked out just as you’d expect, with tables and foldable chairs set up along gravel walkways. I’d say to make a run for the seatings inside the ‘straw huts’ (it’s technically a large round concrete pipe but a little imagination won’t hurt) for the feels.

Once the sun comes down, neon LED lights and fairy lights hanging along the palm trees would illuminate the space.

Oh, and feel free to turn up with your emotional support furry friend as the food court is pet-friendly.

You’ll get to take your pick of over 15 different stalls, offering a variety of cuisines ranging from Taiwanese snacks and Korean street food to Malaysia zi char and lok lok skewers.

For those coming in a big group or intending to stay long, opt for the live seafood BBQ or hotpot, available in both mala and lala versions.

In particular, Pang Ge Mala Stir Fry Hot Pot lets you choose your ingredients — all at the set price of RM18 (S$5.18) per bowl regardless of weight. It’s truly the perfect excuse to be greedy and fill your bowl to the brim for the best value.

You and your dining buddies can also share the Chongqing-style grilled fish at Star Grill Fish & BBQ, going for RM68 (S$19.58). Top up RM8 (S$2.30) to customise it with additional ingredients like potato slices, corn, and quail eggs.

Some of the must-try foods include the fried prawn omelette and claypot curry fish head (yes, it’s another claypot delight), according to reviews online.
