Paris is one of the top dream destinations for many around the world — but did you know that there’s a little slice of the city of love right here in Singapore?

Located along Tras Street, Cafe and Bar Gavroche is a charming little Parisian cafe located right across the same group’s restaurant — Brasserie Gavroche

For those who aren’t familiar, Gavroche is most commonly known for being the name of the main character of the popular French novel Le Misérables (so perhaps this is where they got their inspiration from!).

As you step into the Cafe & Bar, you’ll find yourself surrounded by rustic rattan accents from the furniture and vintage French posters that’ll transport you into an idyllic Parisian state of mind as you enjoy some seriously gastronomic French goodies.

For appetisers, they have a pretty substantial selection including items like the Duck Rillettes (S$14), Tapenade Olives (S$12) served with some fresh tomatoes, Melted Raclette Cheese (S$18) served with air-dried beef and mustard and more.

If you’re a fan of oysters, you’ll also love that they serve mouth-watering Huîtres Fines de Claire N°3 oysters (S$28/half a dozen) — perfect to go with your favourite glass of wine.

For something a little more hearty and homely, try their comfort dishes like the Fricassée de Poulet (S$26), a chicken stew cooked with savoury white wine sauce and vegetables, Bœuf Bourguignon (S$28), a French favourite stewed with rich red wine, root vegetables and potatoes.

When it’s time for dessert, there’s also the classic Crème Brûlée (S$12), sinfully decadent Gâteau Tiède au Chocolat Gianduja et Caramel (S$12), a warm Gianduja chocolate cake served with caramel, Tarte Fine aux Pommes (S$12), a tart and tangy apple tart perfectly balanced out with some aromatic and creamy vanilla ice cream.

If you’re a bit of a connoisseur and would like to find the perfect drink pairings for your food, the Cafe & Bar also carries a variety of liquors, spirits and wine

On weekends, you’ll also be able to enjoy the perfect Breakfast À La Française — a classic Parisian breakfast experience with a variety of French pastries served with French jams and egg dishes (it’s recommended to make a reservation for this as it is pretty popular!).
