With Mexican culture as its centrepiece, featuring floral displays, replicas of cultural artefacts and more (S$20 for adults and S$12 for kids) – there’s also a list of free Mexican cultural activities you can enjoy apart from the captivating floral displays. Catch Mexican films, watch traditional performances, learn to make salsa and take home handicrafts, there’s quite a few interesting things to watch out for.

First, you can now learn to make your own traditional Mexican chilli from chef Luiz Rodriguez, as well as taste salsa. Then watch an ice-cream demonstration and have your very own Mexican-style ice-cream, and the flavours of Mexican street food. The culinary demonstrations will take place from 3 to 4 September.

And as you attend these culinary workshops, the little ones can watch animated films by acclaimed directors at a mini film festival, screening the films Ana and Bruno, A Costume for Nicolás, and Cosmic Twins. The films screened centre around themes such as inclusivity and traditional folktales. Do note that the film festival runs from 3 to 4 September

If traditional music is more your style, immerse yourself in the Dance of the Four Elements by Mexican Folkloric Ballet of Singapore to express thanks and bless the harvest and fertility of the earth. Do note that the cultural performances will take place on 3 to 4 September. (Pre-registration may be required for some programmes too.)
