We all have our favourite “must-eat foods” whenever we embark on a getaway to Johor Bahru, be it lok lok, old-school desserts, kaya toast or dim sum…the list goes on and on!
If you’re the sort that must get the most bang for your buck hen you’ve got to visit Itaewon Korean BBQ Buffet, a Korean-owned restaurant located in Taman Daya, just 30 minutes from the JB checkpoint.
Their charcoal BBQ buffet is priced at just S$10.05++ (RM35) for adults and S$8.04 (RM28) for senior citizens and kids under 130cm at lunchtime. If you visit for dinner (after 4pm), prices are S$10.92++ (RM38) per adult and S$8.90++ (RM31) for senior citizens and kids.
Take your pick from the following selection of cuts, which you’ll be able to get unlimited refills of:
- Sam Gyeop Sal (Pork Belly)
- Mok Sal (Pork Shoulder)
- Dwaoji Yangnyeom Galbi (Pork Ribs marinated in Soy Sauce)
- Gochujang Samgyeopsal (Spicy Pork Belly)
- Maeun Dak Galbi (Spicy Grilled Chicken Ribs)
- Ganjang Dak Galbi (Soy Sauce Grilled Chicken Ribs)

But that’s not all, as you can also head to the self-service bar to load up on ice water and refillable banchan like kimchi, vegetables, and dipping sauces, along with a special Side Dish of the day.
Each diner will also get one Marshmallow skewer each, which should be a hit with the young ones (and anyone with a sweet tooth).
Do note that there must be a minimum of two diners in order to opt for the buffet, and that food wastage will be charged at S$2.86 (RM10) per 100g.
Not in the mood for a massive feast? Feel free to order off the a la carte BBQ menu and tuck into cuts like Rib Eye Beef (S$25.21, RM88), Grilled Baby Octopus (S$10.02, RM35), and even Soy Sauce Lamb (S$11.17, RM39) alongside add-ons like Grilled Cheese (S$4.29, RM15).
There are also Value BBQ Sets for those who still wish to get their Korean BBQ fix without going all out.
Don’t forget to balance out all those indulgent meats with hearty classics like Kimchi Pancake (S$5.44, RM19), Spicy Tofu Soup (S$5.44, RM19), and Mul Naengmyeon (S$6.59, RM23).
