This hobbit-like farmstay near Kuala Lumpur looks fresh out of the set of The Lord of The Rings with activities like ATV-riding, hanging out with elephants and many more

I don’t know about you but I was absolutely obsessed with The Lord of The Rings when I was younger. So, can you imagine my excitement when I found out that there was a farmstay resembling a Hobbit Hole just one hour away from Kuala Lumpur?

Misty Mountain is nestled beside a tropical forest, the round arch and circular window of the houses are reminiscent of the Hobbit Hole in the set of The Lord of the Rings. The room also boasts a view of the mountains, which is bound to be breathtaking. The Hobbit House starts from RM330 (S$100.14) per night.

With clean air and greenery, this whimsical resort aims to whisk guests away on a journey with Mother Nature. If the Hobbit houses aren’t for you, there are also Rainforest rooms available starting from RM230 (S$69.80) per night.

If you’re anything like me, the first order of business would be to locate the farm animals around the stay to interact with them.

With how busy life gets, this tranquil time with the animals is bound to soothe the soul and create a lasting memory. This would also be the perfect kid-friendly activity for families who are looking for that perfect blend of comfort and nature.

Do note that the terrain features hilly areas and ponds, which may make navigating for younger children a little difficult.

Or, if you’re looking for something that is more out there, you can consider checking out the Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation Centre in Temerloh, Pahang. You can also make it a meaningful stay by learning more about the sanctuary which helps to rescue and rehome Asian elephants — the perfect switch up from your standard staycation.

Otherwise, if you’re more on the sporty side (which I’m not), you can consider going for a hike at Lata Tampit, where the final destination is a waterfall that is bound to leave you speechless. Honestly, I might just consider going on the hike to see the sight with my very own eyes.

If you prefer something more calming, how about checking out the jacuzzi and swimming pool located in Kahaani Resort? Just sit back and unwind as your stress melts away in the warmth and comfort of the water. Ah, so relaxing…

With so much to see and do, will you be hitting up this homestay at Kampung Janda Baik the next time you travel to KL?
