We all know Butter Town, right?
The holy grail for shio pan lovers, these buns are pure magic. On the inside, it’s soft and fluffy with a crackly crust that’s oh-so-satisfying to break open. Made from premium Japanese bread flour and butter, they might make actual clouds jealous.
Now onto recent updates, Butter Town has taken things to the next level with a shio pan ATM! Yes, you heard that right.
Located at Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre, this ATM dishes out their famous “Asian croissants”, a twist on the classic French pastry with a delicious local flair.
Much like bank ATMs, Butter Town’s patrons can grab a bun or two at any point of the day. Though, here’s the catch: they sell out FAST. Like, blink-and-they’re-gone fast.
Now, let’s talk flavours. The menu for the vending machine seems to be on a rotational basis.
For January, it is well-stocked with three signature flavours: OG (S$7.20 for 3 pieces), Au Chocolat (S$8.40 for 3 pieces), and Garlic Cheese (S$8.40 for 3 pieces).
Their limited-edition Chinese New Year specials are a must-try: Pineapple Bolo Shio Pan (S$8 for two pieces), Apple Cinnamon Bolo Shio Pan (S$8 for two pieces), and Pistachio Cranberry Bolo Shio Pan (S$8 for two pieces).
These are only available until the end of February.
All shio pans come neatly packed in individually sealed bags (clean and sanitary, admin can’t take another COVID-19 pandemic again).
Freshly baked daily, these buns are delivered to the machine twice a day at 12.30pm and 5pm — three signature flavours for the former and all six flavours for the latter.
What if you missed out at the ATM?
No worries, you can always hit up their outlets at Holland Drive or CT Hub 2. Furthermore, they are planning on setting up more stations in the city (please come to the north next, thank you).
This is my idea of heaven. Warm, freshly baked bread meets the convenience of a vending machine. Honestly, this might be everything I need in life.
