Next station: Solace Station.
I’m sure by now we are all pretty familiar with the self-photo studio scene in Singapore — it’s literally booming. Besides, it’s almost a ritual at this point for most Gen Z’s to visit one whenever they are out with friends.
Well, if you’re a lover of self-photo srudios you’ll definitely wanna check out these MRT-themed photobooths.
Solace Station is actually Solace Studios’ latest concept and they can be found at the brand’s newest outlet in Orchard Gateway. The entrance of the store also has three gantries — just like the ones at the real train station.
The new outlet features a total of five rooms, three of which are MRT-themed — that’s right, MRT train cabins to be specific. The other two rooms sport the classic grey and white backgrounds.
Props to them for going all out with the decor because the room is really giving MRT core. Just look at the high-angle train cabin with two corner seats! Don’t worry, you won’t get shamed for sitting on the priority seat here (hopefully).
The room is fitted with handlebars, grab poles and even an emergency exit — talk about attention to detail. Although, you should know that these are just for aesthetics and no you cannot climb or hang from the poles.
The high angle style in this cabin really does make it seem like you’re being watched on the train’s CCTV — ooh, there’s an idea for your photoshoot here!
The sliding train door cabin is where we’ll probably see a lot of people having fun. It is also the most aesthetic room of the three. The room is fitted with metal train doors that honestly adds so much more vibes to the pics.
The last room is the fisheye lens train cabin. This time around the room definitely has more space to accommodate more people in the shot. Make sure to bring all your pals here because it’ll definitely be more fun and way more chaotic.
Apart from the train-themed booths, there are also matching train-themed photo strips you’ll get to take home with you .
Price-wise, the train cabin session costs S$12 and you’ll get to take a total of eight shots. After which, you’ll get to choose between two photostrips or one multi-frame. You can also add on additional photostrips for just S$2 for two pieces, or one multi-frame for S$2.
Meanwhile, the classic photobooth cost S$10 for two photostrips or one multi-frame, with additional prints from just S$2.
Solace Station at Orchard Gateway officially opens on 20 April 2024 and I’ll definitely be bringing my besties here for a little photoshoot session. I might even tap my EZ-Link card at the gantry just for the laughs.
Which camera will you be posing in front of first?
