Every time a gorgeous sunset paints the sky with hues of pink, lavender and orange, you’ll find social media flooded with pictures of it. Why not pull ahead of the competition with these 20 sunset spots in Singapore that will make for photos sure to spark envy when you share them on Instagram?
Other than the usual sunset spots at Mount Faber and East Coast Park, Singapore has plenty of other charming spots with an unobstructed view of the glowing orange yolk.
Bring your best camera and head on to any of the places below!
1. Breakwater @ Marina East
When the breakwater at Marina East (also known as Pulau Ujong) went viral on TikTok in 2021 and attracted crowds — an obvious no-no during COVID — it was quickly cordoned off and was soon forgotten by everyone. Now that the restriction tapes have been torn off, you’re free to enter this crescent-shaped breakwater for those Instagram shots.

2. Old Holland Road Big Field
This field is one of the more hidden sunset spots in Singapore, and is probably only known well to the local residents in its vicinity. Hidden amidst private estates, the field offers a rare unobstructed view of the blue skies.
With the landed houses in the far distance and the green grass beneath your feet, it makes for a perfect picnic spot as you watch the setting sun paint the sky with a warm palette of gold and pink.
3. Changi Bay Park Connector
This park connector has been touted for its resemblance to Jeju Island. It’s a scenic coastal route that leads to another popular sunset chasing spot — Changi Bay Park. But the 3.6km connector is already an excellent location, with boardwalks, a lookout pavilion and the open sea right beside the road.

4. Raffles Marina Lighthouse
Raffles Marina Lighthouse is one of the best sunset spots in Singapore — if not the best. Situated in the West, this spot opens up to the quiet sea where you can watch the sun slowly descend into the horizon. Yachts dot the way to the lighthouse, which also make for great photos with the colourful sky in the background.

???? 8am–10pm (Daily)
5. Merlion Park
This sunset spot in Marina Bay is well-documented, and rightfully so, as the scenery is always iconic and breathtaking. It is a popular sunrise spot thronged with photographers as well. If you are keen to literally sail off into the sunset, take on the free DBS Sailing Experience and book a 5pm slot! Do try to book during the cooler months when the sun sets earlier.

6. Southernmost Point of Continental Asia @ Palawan Beach
Everyone knows the three beaches of Sentosa have sunset vistas that make you feel like you’re out in Bali, but have you tried watching the sunset from the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia? As its name signifies, this vantage point is literally the edge of continental Asia, so there’s no cooler place than this to look out at the sun setting across the South China Sea.
Cross the IG-worthy suspension rope bridge at Palawan Beach to reach this idyllic island and climb the viewing towers for a bird’s eye view!
???? Palawan Island
???? 9am–7pm (Daily)
7. Pandan Reservoir
Considering how stunning the sunset views at Pandan Reservoir are, it’s puzzling why it’s not more popular. Its rare openness and space makes it one of the greatest sunset spots in Singapore, boasting clear views of the skies and water. Being underrated has its perks too — there are not many crowds to contend with.

8. Berlayer Beacon @ Labrador Nature Park
This landmark installed in the 1930s at the southern tip of Singapore was used by ships as a visual marker to navigate themselves towards the harbour during the mid-20th century. Now, it’s also a visual marker for those looking to find a good vantage point for sunsets. Perhaps you might be lucky enough to hear a ship blow their horn as the golden sun sets behind the quay cranes and boats!
???? Labrador Villa Rd, Singapore 119190
9. Rower’s Bay Park / Seletar Fishing Village / Yishun Dam
You might be wondering why there are three different locations listed instead of one, but these three places are remarkably close to each other, within a five-minute walking distance of each other.
Go on a sunset stroll across all three locations that offer different charms, or you could absolutely pick a spot and settle down.
Seletar Fishing Village went viral on social media during COVID for its rustic nature and captivating sunsets.
Yishun Dam offers a serene, panoramic view of still waters reflecting the sky’s hues, while Rower’s Bay Park surrounds you with lush flora and fauna, and you can relax in a sheltered pavilion with hanging vines like a princess as you look out into sunset across Lower Seletar Reservoir.

10. Pasir Ris Park
Don’t let the photo fool you into believing it was taken anywhere but in Singapore. Pasir Ris Park might just turn out to be the greatest sunset spot in Singapore, and you can recreate this beauty by renting out a kayak out to the waters at the golden hour.

11. Marina South Pier MRT station
I will never live it down for how underrated this sunset spot in Singapore is. As one of the least frequented MRT stations, there’s no crowds for you to squeeze through, and it’s convenient to travel to — the shore is literally right outside Exit B.
You can even go up to the rooftop garden of the MRT for an excellent view of the sea. Just turn left after coming out of Exit B, go straight, and look out for a lift on your left to Level 3.

12. Marina Barrage
Marina Barrage is a classic sunset viewing spot. Head up to the Green Roof to picnic and admire the sun disappearing down Singapore’s skyline, or walk across the Marina Bridge for a better view of Gardens by the Bay. Though, it can get rather crowded during the weekends.

12. Lower Peirce Reservoir / Upper Peirce Reservoir
Both reservoirs are listed here as they have similar sights of the setting sun — Upper Peirce Reservoir is right in front of Lower Peirce Reservoir after all. Lower Peirce Reservoir however, is the more popular out of the two as it has the added bonus of an aesthetic pavilion that brings an extra oomph to photographs.

14. Woodlands Waterfront
Woodlands Waterfront is a popular stop for cyclists on the Northern Explorer Loop, but it also means it has great unhindered views of the seas, all the way to Johor Bahru. There are also high vantage points and rest shelters along the scenic trail, so you can exercise and soak in some Vitamin D as the sun sinks into the horizon.
???? Admiralty Road West, Singapore 759956
15. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park
Although this urban park has an obstructed view of the sun, the atmosphere of the park takes on a dreamy, tranquil quality, especially with the colourful sky and HDB buildings reflected in the small streams running through the verdant greenery. Recycle Hill and the sculpture “An Enclosure for a Swing” is also a good vantage point and photography spot for the setting sun.

16. Ulu Sembawang Park Connector
The Ulu Sembawang Park Connector is famous for its misty mornings that are dyed red by the rising sun. You certainly would have seen “Ulu Sembawang Sunrise Viewing Point” pop up on Google Maps when you search for the park connector.
But have you tried giving the sunset a chance at this park connector as well? For many who couldn’t make it in the mornings, they have been treated to the same beautiful red skies during the sunset hours as well.

17. Sunset Walk @ Changi Point Coastal Walk
The Sunset Walk is one of the six sections of the 2.2km Changi Point Coastal Walk. Like its name suggests, it allows you to enjoy a splendid view of the sunset at the western end of Changi Point. If you’re feeling lazy, you can stop at Kelong Walk (the section before Sunset Walk) and still get a superb view of the sunset on the boardwalk above the sea.

18. Chemperai and Jering Trail @MacRitchie Reservoir
The Chemperai and Jering Trail is an easy and relaxing boardwalk skirting along the waters of MacRitchie Reservoir. This trail makes up part of the Lornie Trail, which loops around through the forest as well.
Lornie Trail may be a short 2km hiking trail, but it can get a little demanding with some steep slopes along the way. Check out this NParks guide here on how to avoid the forested section — you won’t be seeing much of the sun in there!

19. Kranji Marshes
Scale the Raptor Tower at Kranji Marshes for a panoramic view of the marshes, its rich array of flora and fauna and of course, the skies. The floating boardwalk is also a good place to get some pictures in with the golden sunset.

20. Keppel Bay
Keppel Bay, a tiny island that is only accessible via the Keppel Bay Bridge, is one of the promising sunset spots that are often overlooked in Singapore. Head on to Keppel Island Viewpoint at the western tip of the island to snap your pics.
Or you could choose to pose with the luxury yachts and the setting sun as your background for a spicy photo that is sure to bring the boys (or girls) to the yard.
