Just when I thought we had enough cat cafes, a new one sprung up just across the border in Johor Bahru.

Guess we’re headed there for the weekend.

Cat Times is a two-story cat cafe nestled in the Austin Crest area, situated on top of Panda Market.

The entire first floor is a playground for our feline friends (since they deserve only the best), while the second floor features a homely Japandi-style interior with tables and chairs for you to dine in peace (well, as much as you possibly can).

No need to worry about stair-climbing; there’s an elevator to whisk you between floors.

Artificial sakura trees further sprinkle a touch of Japan throughout the cafe, while creating cosy hideaways for our furry friends to curl up and chill.

For just $2.87 (RM10) per person, you get to play with 19 cats here, including a variety of breeds like siamese, maine coons, british shorthairs, ragdolls and many more.

Since each kitty has their own distinctive personality, you’re sure to find a special one to bond with.

The younger furballs are more playful and are easier to prank or  goof around with, whereas the older ones might need a bit more encouragement for cuddle time. Some may even hide in tight corners (what’s new?), making for a great game of hide-and-seek.

You can also dive into their wide range of cat toys to engage with the playful kitties, or sweeten the deal with some tasty treats to win their hearts.

Getting a little tired? Head up to the second storey and grab a coffee and cake, with their crowd-favourite being the Cheesecake. You can even try your hand at some coffee art on their Mocha (S$3.73/RM13).

There are also board games that you can play with your (human) friends. If you’re on a solo date, there’s also a selection of books that can keep you company.

No reservations are needed — just stroll in and snag your favourite spot!

Are you ready to make some new furry friends?
