As a Westie (West side is the best side, ok?), I have one and only one reason to head to the East and that’s Changi Airport. There’s the occasional event like the Singapore Airshow that I’m willing to take the hour-long journey for but that’s few and far between.
Well, a new event has popped up and I guess you’ll be seeing me in the East more often now.
Cosford Container Park is Singapore’s largest outdoor F&B container park, conveniently located right beside Changi Airport. It features 13 food vendors, such as Let’s BBQ Bar, Hello Butter Chicken and Ishiro.
As if things couldn’t get any better, come 22 and 23 June 2024, you won’t just be dining and plane spotting here as Cosford Container Park will be transformed into a lifestyle space — fitted with retail vendors, activities for all ages, workout classes, workshops, and many more.
Oh, and you can bring along your pets as well (there’s something for them!).
The Cosford Container Park Weekend Market will kick-start on 22 and 23 June 2024, and will take place one weekend a month. Don’t worry, you won’t be bored of the offerings as each weekend will feature a rotation of vendors.
Be it handmade jewellery, vintage fashion pieces, preloved goods or rare art pieces, there’ll be a diverse range of products you can shop from each month — which is a wonderful way to support local artisans and businesses.
June’s edition of the weekend market sees the likes of Blooms Escape for preserved flowers, LORVIS.CO for knitted bags and The Stars Corner for DIY accessories, such as phone straps and candles. You can even get your tarot cards read from Yourtarotbestie at the tarot reading booth.
The activity lineup will also change each month. For June, a free Yin Yoga class will be hosted by fitness instructor, Brandon (@branstands). You’ll be accompanied by bunnies roaming around, so make sure to not get too distracted!
If you want something intense, go for the Zumba classes instead. All you need is to not be shy to dance in public as you’ll be grooving against the backdrop of planes taking off and arriving on the runway.
Considering there are only 20 slots for each class, they will no doubt be filled up fast. So, hurry, reserve your spot now!
Cocktail lovers, you aren’t forgotten. We reckon you’ll definitely be interested in the Cocktail Masterclass, priced at just S$15 per person.
Other activities include a thrilling bingo session, where you can stand a chance to bring home some prizes if luck is on your side.
