Casa Lola, the latest casual concept by FOC Group, has recently opened on Boon Tat Street, just a stone’s throw from Telok Ayer MRT station. The vibes are cosy, the hospitality warm, and the food – deliciosa.

Started by a husband-and-wife duo, Casa Lola is inspired by one of the owner’s experiences growing up in Barcelona and all the summer weekends he spent at grandma’s. Stepping into the restaurant feels like being transported to a humble neighbourhood bodega where every dish feels authentically Spanish.

Tapas, or appetisers, are a hallmark of Spanish cuisine. And at Casa Lola, you would definitely want to start your meal with one of these. From “Salmorejo” Chilled Tomato Soup (S$14) to Crispy Suckling Pig Ear with Smoked Paprika Aioli (S$15) to Lola’s Traditional Spanish Snails with Mediterranean Herbs (S$22), there’s more than enough to get your appetite going.

One is an iconic Spanish cold soup, another an appetiser you can rarely find in Singapore, and the last one a dish filled with rich, rustic flavours. No matter which you go for, it’ll be a great start to your time at Casa Lola.

When it comes to mains, you will not be disappointed with the choices too. Highlights on the menu include Grandma Lola’s Baked Macaroni Ragù (S$20) and Crispy Deboned Suckling Pig (S$36).

The former draws inspiration from comforting Spanish home-cooked meals and childhood memories. It features slow-cooked beef ragù, macaroni, and a generous serving of melted cheese – all baked to golden brown perfection. 

The latter is for those of you who love meat that is tender underneath, yet crispy and crunchy at the top. Slow-cooked overnight, the suckling pig is then carefully deboned before being served with Port wine, sweet and tangy apple, and pumpkin chutney. 

If you’re looking for something to drink or pair with your mains, Casa Lola also offers a selection of house wines, served straight from wooden barrels. You’ll get the traditional Spanish bodega experience while enjoying your wine with porrones designed for sharing.

For those with a sweet tooth, end off your meal with desserts such as the Chocolate Cake with Layers of Manjari 66% Dark Chocolate Ganache (S$18). Indulge in the chocolatey goodness that was made entirely in-house.

All in all, Casa Lola seems to be a place where you will get a complete, casual dining experience with flavours as vibrant as the culture it originated from. Visit the restaurant’s website if you’d like to reserve a table.

This includes the rare Egyptian Blue Lotus, once buried alongside pharaohs. This limited-time flower exhibition starts on 21 August 2026 and runs for only a month, until 27 September 2026.

Another event starting on 21 August 2026 is the Singapore Night Festival. Take a fascinating night walk through the Bras Basah.Bugis district, which will be turned into a land of artworks, projections, and immersive experiences until 5 September 2026.

Pasar MAD-lam

Organised by MAD Market in collaboration with Singapore Night Festival, Pasar MAD-lam is a weekend market that will be taking place over the next three weeks at Capitol Singapore’s Outdoor Plaza.

Legally Blonde – The Musical

Based on the novel and film of the same name, Legally Blonde – The Musical, takes audiences into the story of Elle Woods, an unapologetically stylish and confident girl on her journey through law school. 

This beloved tale about beating stereotypes, finding friendships, and believing in oneself, became an instant classic in the early 2000s. Now, through this musical, it has been given a modern reimagining, complete with high-energy songs, exciting choreography, peak humour, and more pink. 

What makes the Singapore run of this musical extra special is that it stars Singaporean West End star Nathania Ong as the main character, and other local actors and singers in supporting roles. Super 24 2026

If you are especially into dance music, choreography, and competitions, this is the event for you. Super 24 makes a return on 29 & 30 August 2026, bringing dance battles to the centre stage at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. 

For the uninitiated, Super 24 is Asia’s largest mega crew dance competition where teams of 24 dancers battle it out on a square stage. As the stage has no fixed front, these dancers are evaluated by judges from all four sides.

President’s Young Performers Concert

The annual President’s Young Performers Concert is returning to the Victoria Concert Hall on 12 September 2026. Organised by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, this annual event showcases some of our nation’s brightest young classical musicians. 

Not only will you be watching a performance by the national orchestra, but you will also get to celebrate and witness the rise of three emerging classical music talents. The entire programme, which spans 1 hr 50 mins (including a 20-minute intermission), will be conducted by Jason Lai and feature bassoonist Shi Jia Ao, soprano Natasha Da Costa, and violinist Kaelyn Soh, alongside the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Candlelight Concerts

For those of you looking for a romantic, musical night, or just simply want to wind down under the soft glow of warm lights and a cozy atmosphere, you have to attend a Candlelight Concert.

The exclusive Afternoon Tea will be available at The Tea Room at The St. Regis Singapore from 3 August 2026 to 30 September 2026, featuring flavours that Chef Janice Wong describes as “a love letter” to the flavours she grew up with. The goal was to “transform deeply nostalgic tastes into something refined and yet authentic”.

In this menu, you would find a variety of savoury and sweet treats. Standouts include the Chwee Kueh with Mushroom Broth, a reimagining of the classic steamed rice cakes with chai poh. In Chef Janice Wong’s version, the item is paired with mushroom broth.

The Ginger Sesame Chicken Roulade served on a Potato Blini is another interesting dish that reinterprets Hainanese Chicken Rice. You will get a taste of a beloved Singaporean classic with an afternoon tea twist.

Those of you with a sweet tooth can look forward to new items like the Osmanthus Sweet Bean Pastry, a variation of Ang Ku Kueh. Other sweet highlights are the Kaya and Coffee Entremet, which recreates the traditional breakfast flavours of kaya butter toast and coffee, and the classic Kueh Salat that most would be familiar with.

Can’t get enough of the sweet treats? You can head to the Patisserie from 3 August 2026 to 30 September 2026 to find nine new varieties of chocolate bonbons, also crafted in collaboration with Chef Janice Wong.

Flavours include Chef Janice Wong’s signatures such as Calamansi, Coffee, and Gula Melaka Pandan. Other bespoke creations you can choose from are The St. Regis Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate and The St. Regis Tea Blend. Each box of nine is priced at S$36, and can be purchased daily between 9am and 10pm. 

As for The St. Regis Singapore x Janice Wong afternoon tea menu, it will also be available daily during the same period from 3 August 2026 to 30 September 2026, from 3pm to 5pm. Prices for this afternoon tea start from S$65.

We dropped by to check out the new space and its tenants, and were treated to some delicious surprises. Keep reading to see our highlights. 

Vendors with Michelin Bib Gourmand

Food Republic at Jewel Changi Airport features four tenants with Michelin Bib Gourmand awards. According to the Michelin Guide, this award is given to restaurants and hawkers that “serve exceptional food at great value”. 

We had the pleasure of tasting all four stalls that have earned this recognition, but our favourite will definitely be Na Na Homemade Curry · Peranakan Cuisine. The 10-year Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient’s Chicken Curry Set served with Rainbow Bread (S$11.90) kept us asking for more.

On first taste, the curry immediately hits — with savoury goodness and spice. The chicken is also tender, easy to debone, and flavourful. Usually, such chicken curry sets are served with white bread or rice. But the unique Rainbow Bread that comes with this particular set pairs surprisingly well with the curry. It is the perfect balance of soft and crispy, and comes in bite-sized pieces too.

Other Michelin-approved dishes include Shui Kueh from Jian Bo Shui Kueh (S$4 for 5pcs, S$6 for 8pcs), Steamed Grouper with Thai Sour Chilli (S$16.90) from MP Thai, and LiXin’s Signature Noodle (Dry, S$8.90) from LiXin Teochew Fishball Noodles. If any of those appeals to you, check them out for yourself when you’re there!

Local and global flavours

Another dish we greatly enjoyed was the House Special Four Treasures Claypot Rice (S$12.80) from Ai Shan Claypot. The stall might not have won a Michelin Bib Gourmand award, but they have definitely won our hearts and taste buds. 

When the claypot first arrived, we were too busy taking photos of the food at our table and forgot one important step in eating claypot rice — stirring and mixing. By the time we lifted the lid and were ready to dig in, we were expecting the rice to be stuck at the bottom and completely burnt.

However, that was totally not the case at all. The rice was relatively easy to “scrape” off the bottom and was perfectly cooked, having a consistent, crispy crust. It was also still moist, thanks to sauces that were added into the pot. 

The taste of this dish also matched its look and feel. If you noticed, the claypot rice comes with half a salted egg, which we decided to mix into the rice as we stirred it. This added another layer to the already taste-packed dish, filling our mouths with flavour with every bite.

Ai Shan Claypot actually hails from Hong Kong, so its opening here at Food Republic marks its debut in Singapore. What a deliciously strong start.

After all the rich and hearty food, you would definitely be looking for something sweet. And there are plenty of options here at Food Republic at Jewel. The highlight for us would be White Chendol (S$5) from Dessert Heaven. You can expect common chendol toppings like red bean, sago pearls, attap seeds, and gula melaka.

However, white jelly replaces the usual green jelly, giving this version of the beloved dessert a unique aesthetic. We found the White Chendol to be just sweet enough without being overwhelming. 

The drinks stall, Toast Today, also serves a unique Singapore Slushie (S$4.50 for Small, S$5 for Large). If you’d like a refreshing thirst quencher that answers the question, “What if the Singapore Sling cocktail was non-alcoholic?”, this is for you. Every sip comes with distinct notes of pineapple, lime, cherry and grenadine. 

A recreation of 1970s street dining

Beyond the food and drinks, the reopening of Food Republic at Jewel also introduced a refreshed space that transports you back to the 1970s of Singapore. At every corner of the 500-seater food atrium, you will find neat details and realistic props that harken back to an era when communal street dining was commonplace. 

Recreations of hand-drawn signs, pushcarts, stray cats, street vendors and more will immerse you in a part of our local history that is as iconic as the food it produced. Spot the numerous photo spots throughout the entire space and snap some pictures for memories! Those who grew up during the 1960s and 1970s will surely find this nostalgic.

Special deals & collectables

If you’re planning to visit this new Food Republic, we recommend doing so in July. To celebrate its opening, the food atrium will be hosting special promotions and activities for diners. For instance, on every Friday in July, from 10am onwards, diners can purchase a cup of Hot Kopi or Teh at just S$0.70. Only the first 100 cups purchased each day will be eligible for this promotion.

From now till 31 July 2026, spending a minimum of S$18 in up to two combined receipts will also allow you to redeem a limited-edition postcard. These postcards come in a retro design inspired by the rich heritage of our local streets and can be posted directly from Food Republic at Jewel to anywhere in the world.

Diners will also be able to redeem a stamp, a scent tag, and a S$2 voucher along with their postcard. After 31 July 2026, the postcards can be purchased at S$1 each without the other collectables.

Raw Fish

Estiatorio Milos knows how to kraken up the seafood game. The menu opens with Fresh Fish and Seafood guided by the restaurant’s own “Captains”, who walk diners through the day’s catch. Don’t miss their Raw Fish selections, including Sashimi (S$36), Tartare (S$42), and Ceviche, featuring Magiatiko, Tuna, Salmon, and Loup de Mer. We started with the Ceviche (S$42), with a slightly sweet flavour that paired well with the Crostini. Simplicity at its finest – the Loup de Mer at Milos lets the fish speak for itself, whether served raw, grilled, or baked whole in sea salt.

Milos Classic

Let’s talk green. Who would’ve thought Zucchini and Eggplant could taste this good? The must-order Milos Special (S$45) is a personal favourite. Lightly fried and paired with Saganaki Cheese and Tzatziki, it’s a perfect dish to pass around the table. This tower of paper-thin crispy vegetable dish is proof that simple ingredients can steal the show. If you would like something a little lighter, the Green Salad (S$32) hits the spot. A fresh mix of Romaine, Dill, Spring Onions, Manouri Cheese, and the signature Milos dressing, it’s ideal for refreshing the palate.

No seafood spread is complete without the Fried Calamari (S$42) — a crowd’s favourite — crispy on the outside and tender within, dangerously addictive, and gone within seconds. But the real star was the Crab Cake (S$45), jam-packed with crab meat. So good it deserves one per person. So do yourself a favour and order your own. Sharing this one? Not a chance.

Meat

Rounding out the menu, if you’re a huge fan of fish, go for the Bigeye Tuna (S$68) or Rouge Label Salmon (S$62). Prefer something meatier? Try the Milk-Fed Baby Lamb Chops (S$88), Filet Mignon (S$88), or 21-Day Dry-Aged Rib-Eye Steak (S$108). We ordered the Filet Mignon, USDA Black Angus Filet served with crispy Greek Fries. Cooked medium, the Filet Mignon had a light sear on the outside with a warm, pink, tender centre – juicy and perfectly balanced.

Estiatorio Milos has a 3-course Lunch Menu, from Monday to Friday for S$68++ (excluding eve of PH & PH) and Saturday and Sunday for S$88++. Both Weekday and Weekend menus also feature an extensive Greek wine list by the glass, along with a lineup of signature cocktails such as the Martini of the Gods, Santorini Sunrise, and Mastiha Espresso Martini — all at S$24 each.

Lunch is served Thursday and Friday from 12pm to 2pm. Dill offers a smaller, distinctly Scandinavian selection, with a focus on open-faced sandwiches — Smørrebrød (S$36) done right, where less bread simply means more room for flavour.

Dinner and drinks run from Wednesday to Saturday, 4pm to 11pm. Dill turns up the elegance with a Set Menu and à la carte options. Choose from a Five-Course Set Menu at S$160 or a Six-Course Set Menu at S$185, complete with an optional wine pairing at S$110++ (upgradable to S$125). Highlights include delicate Turnips with Uni and Horseradish, Scallops with Leeks and Lovage, Halibut paired with Dill and Cucumber, and Chicken with Mizuna and Ramson Capers — finished off with a refreshing Kolakaka dessert. For those craving a little extra indulgence, an additional sixth course of Langoustine, Leek, and Parsley is also available.

Prefer to go À la carte? Dishes include a Waffle with Löyrom (S$32), Toast Skagen with Fermented Turnips (S$28), Wagyu Onglet with Tarragon and Kailan (S$49), and Wild-caught Fish with Potato and Leeks (S$49) — alongside sides like potatoes in brown butter and yeast (S$8), and sourdough served with Norwegian butter (S$10). Feeling full? Dill bad, save room for desserts with options like Svele (S$19) served with Hazelnut Ice Cream or a classic Chocolate Chip Cookie (S$9).
