Experience a wholesome weekend at the Farmer’s Market located in the heart of Singapore with unique beers, edible flowers, DIY terrarium-making and more

An urban farm that’s practically right in the middle of our city? It might seem impossible, but City Sprouts is just that. Nestled away in Bukit Merah, this social enterprise focuses on urban rejuvenation and sustainable living, which is defo relevant today.

If you missed the last one in December 2022, their Farmer’s Market is back this Saturday in conjunction with World Cancer Day — Love & Hope edition. With about 30 vendors, you’ll be able to cop the freshest seasonal greens and fruits, delicious home bakes, artisanal crafts and more!

You won’t see produce like this at the supermarket — Nosh Produce offers specialty herbs, salads and even (too pretty to eat) edible flowers, all pesticide-free and locally grown.

Feeling peckish? Get delectable pastries and gelato from the popular Patissier Woo, famous for bakes like chocolate & salted caramel choux, coffee tarts and more.

If you get thirsty after checking out the various vendors, grab a cold beer from Quality Drops Draft Beer. These are actually the folks behind some of the taps available at Smith Street Tavern in Chinatown! These are no ordinary beers — you’ll find refreshing and unique flavours like malty lemon, juicy citrus and more.

Apart from shopping, you can also DIY your own terrarium at the farmer’s market, which makes for a great personal gift for your boo (gentle reminder that Valentine’s Day is coming up!). Plus, City Sprouts will also donate 20% of terrarium sales to Singapore Cancer Society.

For animal-lovers, you’ll want to come early! The first ten visitors at 9.30am and 10.30am get to meet the resident chickens and ducks for free. If you miss out on these timings, you can still get to meet the fowls by being one of the first ten shoppers to make purchases from five different vendors.

Admission is free and it’s BYOB (bring your own bag), of course.

In need of a getaway from the bustling city? Be sure to head down to the Farmer’s Market this weekend!
