We are seriously spoilt. First, there were Ferrero Rocher chocolate bars. And now, Ferrero Rocher Ice Cream Sticks have made their debut in Singapore at Fairprice Finest. What a treat!
Previously only available online, these icy treats can now be easily purchased from supermarkets near us, much to the convenience (and delight) of Ferrero Rocher fanatics. They are a great addition to the sheer variety of ice cream offerings you can find.
Flavours are indulgent yet all-too-familiar — hazelnut ice cream with a hazelnut and cocoa swirl coated with milk or dark chocolate and crunchy hazelnut pieces. Yes, both the Classic and Dark variations exist. You know I’m leaning towards the latter.
We spotted them at 111 Somerset’s Fairprice Finest and obviously had to try the Classic version for ourselves. Our verdict? The ice cream’s not too sweet (thankfully), and the chocolate coating provides a much needed textural contrast. It’s the hazelnut chocolate confection we all know and love, but in ice cream form.
The concept is, of course, nothing new, but is it effective? Very.
A box of four retails for S$12.95 at all Fairprice Finest outlets islandwide. It’s definitely worth a try.
