This night food bazaar in the East has cult-favourite street eats like the viral Bung! Lemon Tea, Buldak ramen, potato pancakes and more from now till 14 July 2024

I recently stumbled upon a TikTok video by an expat claiming that in Singapore, everyone turns into a foodie, whether they intend to or not.

And I can’t help but agree.

Living in a small country gave us the perfect excuse to indulge in one of life’s greatest pleasures: food! With endless options to explore, it’s no surprise we all turn into foodies.

That’s likely why we have an endless obsession with pasar malams (AKA night markets) —  they’re the ultimate one-stop shop for all kinds of foods and beverages. Easties, you’re in for a treat because there’s one that just popped up right outside PLQ at Paya Lebar MRT station.

Taking place now till 14 July 2024, you can look forward to digging into a wide array of cuisines from all around the world, from comforting Thai and Taiwanese delicacies to classic Japanese and Indian fare! Make sure to swing by the Food Fair @ PLQ Plaza.

Fans of Thai food can head over to Here Thai Food and Bangkok Grill, with the former specialising in sweet treats like sago pudding and luk chup, while the latter serves authentic Thai skewers.

Bok Cui Cui has also joined the food fair, and while their iconic potato balls are missing, they’ve made up for it with potato pancakes.

Love Buldak ramen? You’re in luck as you can enjoy it professionally prepared just for you at Fire Chicken Ramen. In the meantime, why not try something different and pair your dish with their Hakka abacus seeds for a fusion experience?

Other famous food stalls you should make a pitstop for include Spuds Shack for gourmet burgers and fresh potato rostis, Golden Bee for Japanese pizzas and takoyakis and The Original Vadai.

Despite not having a sweet tooth, I can be found at Crispy Crepe, shamelessly devouring their, well, crispy crepes! Choose from an assortment of flavours like Durian (S$5), Nutella (S$5) and Chocolate and Banana (S$5.50).

Wash it all down with Bung! Lemon Tea’s viral Bittergourd Lemon Tea, an uber-refreshing beverage that’s hand-smashed and shaken for each cup.

So, come hungry and leave happy!
