Are you ready to turn your world upside down? From 30 June to 1 October 2023, fans of the highly successful and wildly popular Netflix series, Stranger Things, will get to embark on an interactive retail experience like no other at Bugis+. Cue Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill”.
Just like the series, the Stranger Things – The Encounter: Singapore, is also set in the 80’s and fans will get the chance to be transported back in time to join Hawkins High’s Hellfire Club for Game Night. And if you’re well-versed in the series, you should know that this game night is about to take a different turn. As Argyle once said “Hold onto your butts, brochachos!” — truer words have never been spoken.
The Encounter will take you through some of the most iconic sets in the show including Joyce’s House, The Lab, The Upside Down, and even the infamous Creel House. While these places do hold haunting memories for the cast, we won’t blame you if you geek out in here — we reckon we would too.
I don’t know about you but, whenever a scene at Scoops Ahoy comes up, I always wondered what the ice creams there would taste like. That, and the fact that ice cream shops back in the 80’s just had so much character to them. If you do make it out of the experience alive, you deserve to treat yourself to some delicious treats at Surfer Boy Pizza and Scoops Ahoy — now I can finally get a taste of the ice cream sundae irl!
Of course, you’re gonna need pics to remember this momentous day where emotions have been shared, boundaries have been set and order has been restored. Make sure you hop over to level 2 to check out the Palace Arcade-themed photo zones and shop for your Stranger Things merch.
The Encounter is located in Bugis+ Level 7 and tickets are priced from S$39 per person on weekdays. Skip the queue and get the Priority Pass ticket which comes with an exclusive merchandise bundle, all for S$109. If you’re planning to make a trip down but would prefer not to meet Vecna or any Demogorgons, you can always opt for the Starcourt pass for S$15.
From now until 31 May, you can enjoy early bird discounts on your tickets. Tickets are limited, so snag yours online now if you want to fight the Vecna and the Demogorgons! But please, if you don’t mind, for the sake of your old dad, keep the door open three inches.
