Remember the last time we went down to Wong Fu Fu — Singapore’s first halal-certified Taiwanese restaurant? For our avid readers, you’ll probably recall the time we took on their XXL mega bubble tea. Yup, that one!

Well, we’re back again but this time we’re diving into their Miffy Mini Hotpot. Once more, they’ve snagged the title of Singapore’s first-ever with this concept, proving yet again that they’ve won in creativity.
As it’s a pop-up, you’ll want to hurry down. And let’s be real — it’s hard to resist when the food is as adorable as it is, all shaped like Miffy. This is all thanks to Shirley Wong, the famous bento artist behind Little Miss Bento.

Each Miffy Mini Hotpot Set comes with your choice of beef, chicken, or seafood, with the Mixed Seafood option being one of the crowd favourites at S$28.90. Naturally, as shellfish lovers, my dining partner and I went straight for that one.
When I tell you that my dining partner (and, I’ll admit, myself as well) was practically hyperventilating when the hotpot arrived, I’m not exaggerating. Wong Fu Fu really committed to the theme as even the hotpot lid has a Miffy-shaped topper.

It also doesn’t help that the Taiwan Pearl Rice (add on S$2.90) was adorably shaped like Miffy, complete with little seeds for the eyes. It was so cute and picture-perfect that it took us some ‘courage’ to finally dig in and eat it.

We chose Kung Fu Herbal for our soup base but there are five other flavours to choose from: Szechuan Mala, Tangy Tom Yum, Oishi Dashi, Shiok! Prawn, and Daebak Kimchi.
So, while the food is undeniably cute, the real question is: does it taste as good as it looks?
The hotpot itself was decent, though I can only speak for the Kung Fu Herbal base, which I found a bit too mild and in need of more seasoning. Luckily, the Mixed Seafood option saved the day with the prawns and clams bringing a much-needed depth.

The ingredients were fresh and beautifully presented. Our Mixed Seafood set came with prawns and clams but all options include a generous assortment of vegetables, corn, and the star of the plate — a jiggly Miffy-shaped collagen broth that melts into the hotpot.
We also got to try one of the limited edition snacks — Tater Tots with Taiwan Mochi Balls. The tater tots were crispy and satisfying but the mochi balls stole the show with their perfect chewiness and just the right amount of sweetness, making them a great dessert to end the meal.

If you aren’t feeling tater tots, you can opt for the Truffle Fries with Truffle Mayo Dip, Golden Fries with Mentaiko Mayo, Taiwan Salt & Pepper Chicken, Cheese Sticks with Mayo Dip, or Nacho Cheese Fries.
These sides are priced from S$12.90 to S$14.90 and come packaged in a Miffy-themed snack box.

I usually get full just from bubble tea but I can’t resist the temptation of the free-flow bubble milk tea and drinks. For an additional S$3.90, you can DIY your bubble tea concoctions with a range of toppings, including black pearls, white pearls, rainbow jellies, and beancurd tarts.

I’m ever the traditional, so I went for the classic milk tea topped with black pearls. Their tea was surprisingly good, considering Wong Fu Fu isn’t a dedicated bubble tea joint. Feel free to get their Red Tea instead if you want something lighter.

As you’re settling the bill, don’t forget to check out the adorable Miffy merchandise on your way out. From keychains and colouring mats to mugs and pocket mirrors, there’s something cute for everyone to take home.
Often, concepts like this Miffy Mini Hotpot can come off as pretentious or just a cash grab. While I can see why some might think that, I also recognise the dedication that goes into the food, which is something you’d expect from an award-winning restaurant.
Will you be the next to join the Miffy craze?
