7 TEA Cafe is an old school Taiwanese bubble tea shop inside a hawker centre with bubble tea from S$1.50

From Koi to Liho, Chicha Sanchen and many, many, maaaany more bubble tea shops in Singapore, you probably wouldn’t even bat an eye if a swanky new bubble tea shop announces its grand opening.

So why not switch it up with an old-school hidden gem that has bubble tea as affordable as S$1.50?

Tucked humbly within the Taman Jurong Market and Food Centre, 7 TEA Cafe is a Taiwanese bubble tea shop that looks almost reminiscent of the bubble tea shops that we used to frequent after school for our daily dose of Oreo crush or peach ice-blended.

Don’t be fooled though — the bubble teas here are the real deal (while we love the nostalgia of those secondary school era bubble tea shops, it’s very safe to say that they hardly contain any tea!

Instead of blue coral or bright green apple, what you’ll find here are menu items that are surprisingly similar to the ones we see in malls — Oolong Milk Tea (S$2.20), Plum Green Tea (S$2.50), Honey Green Tea ($2.20) and more. The portions of the drinks are also very generous, so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth with this little store. (The size of the drinks look comparable to a large in Koi’s drink sizes!)

Unlike many old school bubble tea shops, the sugar and ice level are also customisable here so it’s totally up to you how sinful you want your bubble tea order to be.

There are also a variety of additional toppings to choose from like aiyu jelly, coffee jelly, konjac jelly and more starting from S$0.30

Apparently, the store is also owned by a Taiwanese couple and their drinks are all made with ingredients from Taiwan (the land of bubble tea!), so you can expect the drinks to be authentic as well (we might not be able to teleport ourselves to Ximending within a couple of hours, but at least we can taste it!).

If you’re looking for an authentic and lesser-known bubble tea experience, definitely head down and check out 7 TEA Cafe!
