When you think of pretzels, you think of Auntie Anne’s, am I right? Despite being widely considered a food haven, Singapore surprisingly does not have that many pretzel places. This has no doubt made Auntie Anne’s virtually synonymous with the German pastry.
Before, we had to take away our pretzels, which may come with a problem: the pretzels would turn cold and hard, and nobody wants that. Now, you can dig into freshly baked pretzels and other goodies on-site at Auntie Anne’s first-ever cafe.
The outlet at Jurong Point may be small, but it finally has seating, so we’ll gladly take that any day. For all my Easties or anyone not living in the west, you might find the location a little out of the way but trust me when I say it’s worth it.
That’s because only here you can get your hands on outlet-exclusive offerings, such as Pretzel Pizzas, Pretzel Sandwiches and many more.
The Smokey BBQ Ham Pizza (S$5.90) is a standout with how saucy and cheesy it is. The nacho cheese is creamy, thick and adds a kick. Plus, as someone who prefers soft pizzas over crispy ones (don’t come at me), I appreciate how easy it is to cut into.
If you’re a fan of their Pretzel Dogs, it’ll be criminal to give their Chicken Pretzel Corndog (S$5.50) a miss. Aside from being nicely browned and crispy on the outside, the dough-to-hotdog ratio is just right, so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth.
The Pretzel Sandwiches are what I’ll get if I need a little something more to fill my tummy. You can never go wrong with the lunch classic Club Sandwich (S$5.90) or the bestselling Chicken Mayo Sandwich (S$5.90).
Auntie Anne’s also has their very own versions of the local-favourite curry or sardine puffs. The Pretzel Pockets (from S$2.50) come in three flavours: Chicken Curry, Creamy Potato and Sardine.
Got a party coming up? There’s nothing more perfect than their Dip & Share Platter (S$16.80) for large gatherings. You can choose three “Stixs” or Bites from options like Cinnamon Sugar Stix, Choco Eclair Stix, Choco Almond Bites, Original Stix, Cheese Nuggets, and Dog Bites, along with three dips, including BBQ, Salsa and Chocolate Dips.
Feel free to add on ice cream at S$4 per scoop.
Of course, you can still get Auntie Anne’s Signature Pretzels (S$3.80) here. The Original Pretzel, Cinnamon Sugar and Sour Cream & Onion are household names but my personal go-to is the Chocolate Mint, which says a lot considering I’m usually not one for sweets.
It’s another necessity to pair your treats with their Hand Squeezed Lemonade (S$3.50 for Regular, S$4.10 for Medium, S$4.90 for Large). Here, this crowd-favourite beverage is available in four other flavours: Mint, Pink, Wild Berry and Kiwi (S$4.50).
Or you can opt for their coffee options, including Flat White (S$4.50) and Cappuccino (S$4.50), for a delightful pick-me-up.
