Kumoya to launch Cinnamoroll cafe pop-up with pastel cloud decor & a themed menu on 19 August 2022

by Christabel Tan

From Spongebob Squarepants to Sumikkogurashi, Kumoya has collaborated with some of the world’s most iconic characters, holding the wildly successful themed pop-up cafes we all know and love. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of one of Sanrio’s most beloved characters, Cinnamoroll, Kumoya will bring back their popular Cinnamoroll-themed pop-up at Orchard Central on 19 August 2022!

Be transported to Cinnamoroll’s world with specially-commissioned Cinnamoroll décor worthy of its 20th anniversary. The entire cafe will be decked out in dreamy, oh-so-pretty pastel shades of pink, blue, and lavender, tied together with magical motifs like potions, playing cards, and tea sets.

There’s even a semi-private room with tatami-style seating, but reservations have to be made in advance (subject to availability).

All this kawaii-ness is complemented by a limited-time menu curated and styled by Shirley Wong (Little Miss Bento), in collaboration with the kitchen team at Kumoya.

Mains & snacks

Start off with a selection of Snacks like the Ocean Fresh Seafood Box (S$16.90) and Mini Tater Totts & Sweet Potato Mochi Balls (S$13.90), all of which are served in a cafe-exclusive Cinnamoroll Box.

As for Mains, we can foresee the Fluffy Dreamland Japanese Seafood Curry Rice (S$28.90) comprising Fluffy Cinnamoroll Japanese rice, an omelette blanket, assorted karaage, seafood, and housemade Japanese Curry, as well as the Fun with Friends Cold Udon with Sesame Sauce and Assorted Tempura (S$26.90) being really popular.

Desserts

Desserts are always the highlight at every Kumoya pop-up.

Go for the dreamy Cinnamoroll Fluffy Fluff Blueberry Swiss Roll (S$21.90), a fluffy housemade blueberry swiss roll with vanilla ice cream, topped with a kawaii Cinnamoroll macaron, and served with biscoff crumbles, marshmallow, fresh cream, and fresh fruits.

Otherwise, the On-Cloud-9 Cinnamoroll Caramel Waffle (S$25.90) features Kumoya’s all-time favourite buttery waffle with caramel sauce, served with vanilla and butterfly pea-flower ice cream.

Drinks

One of the most IG-worthy beverages on the menu, the Cutie Fluffy Cinnamoroll Yuzu Soda (S$16.90) is served with a Kawaii Cinnamoroll Cotton Candy that’ll magically dissolve in front of your eyes.

Of course, classics like the Floaty Cloud Strawberry Frappe (S$13.90), On Cloud 9 Iced Mango Lemonade Iced Tea (S$13.90), and Fluffy Puffy Iced Latte (S$12.90) are also available.

All drinks are also served with allocated limited-edition cafe-exclusive coasters — music to the ears of those who collect Sanrio/Cinnamoroll merchandise.

At the time of writing, no end date has been specified, but you can expect this adorable pop-up to run for around six months. Bring your cameras!
