Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas starts sailing from April 2022

by Christabel Tan

Ever since the onset of the pandemic, Cruises To Nowhere have become a popular getaway for many Singaporeans. Sea-cations give the weary opportunities to relax, play, and soak up some sun.

If you enjoyed your time on Quantum of the Seas and are looking for another escapade, Royal Caribbean will be deploying their newest vessel, Spectrum of the Seas, from April 2022, 6 months ahead of the scheduled timeline. This Quantum Ultra Class vessel promises a far East adventure filled with plenty of “feats and firsts” — we can hardly wait.

The Spectrum of the Seas will continue operating 3- and 4-Night Ocean Getaway sailings that depart on Mondays and Thursdays from Marina Bay Cruise Centre. Twenty-four new sailings will be available from 11 April to 30 June 2022. Be sure to plan ahead, especially if you intend to bring your kids for a cruise during the June school holidays.

Spacious staterooms and snazzy suites

Keep a lookout for a brand new launch — the Suite Club, a private suite enclave for Suite guests with lounges, restaurants, a Solarium, and many more. We hear the exclusive Golden Balcony and Golden Junior Suites are the ones to look out for — they’ll offer you the most bang for your buck, with a fantastic experience and selection of amenities to boot.

Just like in Quantum of the Seas, the standard range of staterooms (Interior, Ocean View, and Ocean View Balcony) will be available, but locations and room configurations may differ. Go all out in the Ultimate Family Suite, a large, two-storey retreat that comes complete with its own in-suite slide, rock climbing wall, and even a private cinema that doubles as a karaoke stage for you to sing your heart out.

New dining and entertainment options

Foodies, it’s your time to shine. The Spectrum of the Seas plays host to a myriad of over nineteen dining options with mouth-watering menu selections. Don’t miss out on the new specialty dining experiences exclusive to Spectrum of the Seas, featuring refined Asian flavours — Sichuan Red and Teppanyaki.

Aside from the usual sports and entertainment activities offered, remember to make time for brand new headlining shows and productions like Showgirl and Spectrum-exclusive The Effectors. Thrill-seekers should make a beeline for virtual and augmented reality games at the Sky Pad.

The Spectrum of the Seas departs from Singapore and will comply with all prevailing COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Limits on group size, mandatory masking, and the restriction on alcoholic beverages past 10.30pm will apply on board. The ship’s capacity will also be capped according to Singapore Tourism Board’s regulations, which is at 50% at the time of writing.

Bookings open today and can be made here, or with your preferred travel partner.
