The Long Weekend is a unique home-based pizzeria with authentic wood-fire pizzas in flavours like mushroom & truffle, ratatouille, meat mania & more

Getting pizza to-go isn’t unheard of, but walking into someone’s home to get pizza is certainly not something that you’d expect to hear (at least not for myself).

Situated along St Patrick’s Road in East Coast, The Long Weekend is a home-based pizzeria business with an authentic wood-fired pizza oven so you know it’s the real deal.

The ordering process basically works just like any other home-based business.Ā

You have to pre-order through Whatsapp, pay online, and pick it up whenever it’s ready (it’s as simple as that!).Ā

The 12-inch pizza caters to one to two people and the star of the show has to be the soft, chewy and perfectly cooked thin crust.

You’ll see ā€œleopard spotsā€ AKA pockets of charred spots on the crust which means that it is baked at the right temperature with the perfect amount of fermentation.

What’s a pizzeria if they don’t serve Margherita (S$17) pizzas?Ā

Good ol’ mozzarella cheese and tangy marinara sauce — how can anything go wrong with such a classic combination?

But if you are a meat lover who prefers a heartier pie, the Meat Mania (S$23) sports generous chunks of ground beef, sausages, and pepperoni with bacon.Ā

Alternatively, there are vegetarian options as well like the Ratatouille (S$20) topped with aubergine, courgette, onion, and capsicum, adding a nice crunch and contrast to the soft crust.Ā

Besides that, there are classics like the Pepperoni (S$20) with slices of cured pork salamis or Hawaiian (S$20) with savoury ham and sweet pineapples.Ā

This may be controversial but the combination of pineapples and ham gives it a more intricate flavour profile that I actually enjoy.

Not a fan of tomato sauce?

Go for the Mushroom & Truffle Oil (S$20) pizza that has slices of mushrooms and drizzled in truffle oil (very value-for-money).Ā

Although there are no dine-in options yet, it is best to eat it fresh out of the oven because you can taste the flavours best when it’s still hot.

Will you be heading down for a saucy slice of pie during the long weekend?
