Tiong Bahru Bakery is one of the local gems in Singapore, adored for their high-quality artisanal pastries. This festive season, they have outdone themselves (again) with a lineup of sweet treats that are bound to make your holidays extra sweet.
First up, the Chocolate Log Cake. Sweet, savoury, and crunchy, this is all you could possibly want in a log cake. Featuring a ganache center, luscious chocolate mousse, buttery praline, and almond cake, all enrobed in a silky chocolate glaze and perched on a delicate crumble base. This is a chocolate lover’s dream come true. If you’re not up for sharing, opt for the mini which is perfect for a single person to munch on. Don’t miss out on this as the whole serving size is up for pre-order until 25 December 2024!
Not a fan of chocolate? The warm and tangy Orange & Ginger Tea Cake might be up your alley. What stands out is the candied orange which lingers with a pleasant aftertaste, and the dense cream which just melts in your mouth. This would make a great gift for older people who aren’t so fond of confectionery. This treat is also available until 25 December 2024.
The Roast Turkey, Pesto & Provolone Sandwich was a surprising hit at our table. This sandwich might look simple, but it delivers bold, savoury flavours with a single bite. Smoky roast turkey, provolone, and salty pesto combine beautifully. The ciabatta is hearty, but was a bit of a workout for the jaw! I recommend sharing this with a friend or two as this fills you up more than you would expect.
Tiong Bahru Bakery Christmas collection also features Candied Orange & Walnut Loaf, which is a delightful pull-apart that you can share with your loved ones. Out of all the treats, Maple Pecan Cruffin is my favourite. This could be my bias speaking (admin loves flaky delicacies) but this was buttery heaven right here. Coupled with caramelised pecans, this went straight to the top of my list.
Iced Black Forest Mocha was inspired by the classic Black Forest cakes. The drink is made with dark cherries and chocolate, prepared with a shot of the bakery’s signature espresso, and topped with vanilla cold foam. This was a nice wrap-up.
Note that these treats are only available till 31 December 2024.
I definitely would be going down for a second visit and getting these treats as a gift for my family. Though, I’m keeping the Maple Pecan Cruffin for myself.
