Goldies is a takeaway-only cafe specialising in all things honey like honey sea salt croissants, salted honey PB donuts & hot cornbread

Ever been told that you’re “sweet like honey“?

You might fit right in at Goldies, a minimalist honey-centric cafe tucked away under a HDB block along Stirling Road in Queenstown.

Almost everything offered here is made with 100% pure raw Australian honey from The Rare Honey Company, so you know you’re getting the good stuff.

Soothing Aesop-esque interiors aside, the cafe’s small yet enticing line-up of cakes, pastries, and specialty drinks is enough to make any honey lover’s day.

If you’re all about that sweet-salty combi, zero in on the Jarrah Honey Seasalt (S$6), a flaky and buttery croissant sprinkled with sea salt and a drizzle of Jarrah honey.

According to the tasting notes stated on the website, Jarrah honey is said to have a toffee-like texture and a distinctive aromatic finish with a sweetness akin to that of treacle. Yum.

One of the more unique options on the menu is the Hot Corn Bread Creamed Karri (S$7), cornbread muffins drizzled with Cream Karri, a type of thickened churned honey that boasts marshmallow and butterscotch flavours — how comforting does that sound?

Otherwise, there’s the Salted Honey Whip Peanut Butter Donut (S$6) and Hot Toasted Crumpet (from S$5). Let’s just say that the feeling of tucking into a warm crumpet with honey and salted butter is simply out of this world.

I’d also go for the Lemon Honey Cheesecake (S$8), which is practically my go-to flu remedy, but in cheesecake form.

As for drinks, you can either opt for usual Black (S$5) and White (S$6), or stick to the theme by ordering the Honey Oat Latte (S$9) or Wildflower Honey Lemon (S$6).

If you like any of the bakes or drinks, you can easily taste and bring home honey products from the retail section, just in time for the upcoming year-end dinner parties and gatherings.

Do note that Goldies mainly operates as a takeaway-only cafe, but there are a couple of stools (no tables, though) for those who intend to dine in.

Is honey worth journeying to Queenstown for? I’ll let you decide, my sweet.
