This cosy industrial-themed cafe in Johor Bahru lets you play and snuggle with chonky cats alongside unique lattes, Niko Neko matcha drinks & more

Cat lovers and regular border hoppers, we have yet another cat cafe in Johor Bahru for you to add to your list. Coffee Cat House is home to five chonky resident cats and trust me, you’re gonna spend quite some time here.

Coffee Cat House is located at Austin Crest and the newest cafe to join the cat cafe scene in JB. Unlike most other cat cafes, which sport a warm and bright interior, Coffee Cat House has a cosy industrial theme. There’s also plenty of open spaces around the cafe along with a few tables and chairs scattered throughout.

The main stars of the cafe are their five friendly resident kitties — Butter, Candy, Buibui (what a name), Yogurt, and Creamy. The cats are all super friendly and cuddly, so don’t be afraid to give them pats and belly rubs.

My favourite is Buibui because he always looks so grumpy but contrary to his perpetual frown, he is actually very affectionate. He is also very mischievous and has a tendency to hide in your bag, so make sure to check your bag before you leave. And yes, as his name suggests, he is pretty chonky, but very adorable.

Apart from cuddling and petting them, there’s also several cat toys around for you to play with them too. The cats might be a little shy at first, but don’t worry they will warm up to you soon enough.

There’s even a piano inside the cafe, and if you’re lucky enough, you might catch the kitties tinkering with the keys too.

The cafe menu is kept fairly simple with just your regular cafe coffees and teas from S$2.57 (RM9). They also offer a selection of unique flavoured lattes like Osmanthus Latte (from S$4.57, RM16), Salted Caramel Latte (from S$4.57, RM16) and Roasted Hazelnut Latte (from S$4.57, RM16). But the crowd favourite is the Sakura Latte (from S$4.57, RM16).

Matcha lovers, you’ll be in for a treat because Coffee Cat House also has a small selection of matcha drinks from Niko Neko — finally a cafe with good-quality matcha. Prices for the drinks start from S$4.57 (RM16)

Coffee Cat House doesn’t serve any cooked food, instead they serve a series of cakes like Tiramisu (S$6.29, RM22), Matcha Tiramisu (S$6.58, RM23) and the crowd-favourite Oreo Cheese Cake (S$5.15, RM18).

The best part about this cafe, apart from the insanely adorable cats, is that there is no entrance fee. That said, you should purchase a drink if you wanna play with the cats, and trust me, after playing with the cats, you’re definitely gonna need a drink.

A trip across the border is never complete without a visit to a cat cafe. If you’re planning to take a short weekend getaway to JB, make sure to stop by Coffee Cat House for some quality time with these kitties!

Running out of things to do in JB? Time to add this cosy cat cafe to your list of places to visit.
