If you visit Haidilao Singapore on the regular, you’d be more than familiar with their free-flow condiments, snacks, and desserts.

Perhaps you’ve also tried out a couple of hacks and DIY concoctions that make the experience all the more merrier.

However, did you know that the well-loved Chinese hotpot chain has launched its first-ever DIY shaved ice dessert bar exclusive to the Bugis+ outlet? That’s right — you can now create your own icy masterpiece for just S$4.90 per person.

The dessert bar is equipped with an shaved ice machine, along with over 20 toppings to choose from, like taro balls, sweet potato balls, black pearls, sago pearls, hawthorn, red beans, rainbow QQ balls, coconut jelly, and of course, plenty of fresh fruit to go around.

Not into shaved ice? Take your pick from Ai Yu jelly, tofu pudding, and grass jelly, which are commonly used as a base in Taiwanese desserts.

Top off your dessert bowls with an assortment of syrups like rose, gula melaka, passionfruit syrup, or condensed milk, and enjoy!

After all, why splurge on groceries when you can make your own rendition of hwachae (the viral Korean dessert) or zhnged up ice kacang after a satisfying hotpot feast at Haidilao?

Alternatively, feel free to follow the recipe for Osmanthus Ai Yu Jelly, Classic Ice Kacang, and Fruit Combination Ice, or maybe even ask the staff for recommendations.

You can experiment and enjoy as many dessert bowls as you can manage, given that all toppings are free-flow!

Do note that the dessert bar is an add-on for dine-in customers of Haidilao (you can’t just visit for dessert) and is available daily from 11am–6pm.

Let’s hope we’ll see more dessert bars popping up at other Haidilao outlets across the island in time to come!
