Har Har Chicken! is a takeaway kiosk by a popular chef and food content creator specialising in har cheong gai burgers, rice boxes & more from just S$4.90

There’s only two types of fried chicken that I simply cannot resist — Korean fried chicken, and Har Cheong Gai (AKA prawn paste chicken). Relatable?

Get this, there’ll soon be a dedicated prawn paste chicken takeaway kiosk, opening on 5 July 2024 that specialises in serving up that crispy, crunchy and savoury goodness in the form of burgers, rice boxes, chicken pops and more!

Har Har Chicken! is located in Junction 8 in BishanNorthies, consider yourselves blessed — and is run by the popular chef and content creator Lennard Yeong (@lennardy) and three of his best pals, including Michelin-star Chef Han Liguang from Restaurant Labyrinth.

Fuelled with a strong passion for har cheong gai, Har Har Chicken! might just have one of the tastiest har cheong gai I’ve ever tasted.

One of the stars on the menu is the HAR-burger (S$7.30) which comprises a golden and well-seasoned har cheong gai cutlet, tomatoes, and lettuce sandwiched between two burger buns. There’s two variants of the burger — the spicy version with sriracha mayo, or a non-spicy version with regular mayo.

I absolutely loved how crispy and juicy the chicken patty was as well as the strong fragrance of the prawn paste, without being too overpowering. When paired with the sriracha mayo, it added a nice spice kick. However, I found the spicy burger to be a little on the saltier side overall.

My favourite item on the menu is hands down the HAR HAR Pops (S$4.80) which is essentially har cheong gai but in the form of popcorn chicken. The chicken was super crispy which made this even more addictive

As a har cheong gai fanatic, the Pops was pretty much heaven on earth. Add a little spice by dipping it into the housemade chicken rice chilli which is spicy and garlicky. I have no doubt that this will probably be the most popular item on the menu.

For those looking for a hearty lunch alternative, the kiosk also has rice boxes starting from just S$4.90. The Saver Box comes with a chicken wing alongside a choice of fries or chicken rice.

Chicken rice lovers are also in for a treat because they also serve chicken rice. If you love your chicken rice to be fluffy and fragrant, you definitely have to give their chicken rice here a go!

If you’re too lazy to dig out the chicken bones — don’t worry, we understand — you can go for the HAR-ty Boneless Thigh Box (S$7.60) which comprises a boneless chicken cutlet. Each set also comes with the option of adding a fried egg (S$1.20), Mini Popcorn Chicken (S$2) or Mini Archar-slaw (S$1.20)
