I often find myself craving for a good beef bowl, stopping at places like Pepper Express or Don Don Donki for a quick fix and affordable beef bowl alternatives. There’s nothing quite like a good Gyu Don (especially when you’re in the mood for it), and thankfully The Gyu Co is a great spot specialising in, and serving up affordable Wagyu Don from S$12.90!

Located in Jurong (and Gyudonya by The Gyu Co at Paya Lebar), here’s where you can choose from a delicious menu of premium rice bowls and udon.

But most importantly, you probably don’t know that they’ve also recently opened Le Gyu Bistro at their Vision Exchange outlet in Jurong as well. Featuring affordable wagyu yakiniku sets from S$19.80 (Australian wagyu, and wagyu karubi!) along with bar bites and speciality alcohols – it’s perfect for when you’re looking for a new dinner and chill place to check out.

“Cheers to affordable wagyu for everyone!”

So if you’re craving wagyu… and yakiniku too, head over and enjoy free-flow rice, miso soup and salad alongside your DIY grill and chill session.

And of course, if you can’t quite make it for dinner (wagyu yakiniku is only available from 5pm to 9pm!), but would love a good beef bowl anyway…

Order up a serving of the Classic Gyudon (S$12.90) featuring tender premium Australian Wagyu with a homemade sauce made from vegetable stock, gobo, infused with bonito and aged for a week, and fluffy steamed pearl rice mixed with seaweed and bonito, along with a locally farmed ooey gooey onsen egg!

Feeling more like seafood instead? Feel free to go for the Mentaiko Rainbow Trout Don (S$16.90). Taste the creamy savoury mentaiko generously drizzled atop a slab of Rainbow Trout and sprinkled with ikura and tobiko – oooh it sounds just like a mentaiko dream perfect for mentaiko chirashi lovers.

Otherwise, you can also expect Chicken Nanban Don (S$12.90) featuring chicken tossed in a homemade sauce and topped with homemade Japanese tartar sauce on a bed of rice, and Iberico Pork Katsu Curry (S$14.80) for those who can’t resist a good Japanese curry (including an Iberico Pork Katsu and pork and beef trimmings!)

Apart from the rice bowls, they also serve udon such as Wagyu Curry Udon (S$16.80) and Iberico Pork Katsu Curry Udon (S$19.80) if you’re feeling more like noodles instead.

Can’t wait to sink your teeth into some great (and affordable!) wagyu yakiniku or gyu don? Bookmark this place for the next time you find yourself craving some meat!
