With outlets in Bukit Timah and Tanjong Pagar, as well as express concepts in Woodlands and Punggol, which gives diners the option of enjoying Korean-Chinese fare in a casual hawker setting at half the price, O.BBa Jjajang is doing better than ever.
Here’s a piece of good news for all my fellow easties: OBBA Jjajang Express has finally opened near us, at none other than Pasir Ris!
There’s no need to travel too far for your jjajangmyeon fix when you can simply head on down to Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre, conveniently located just a four minute walk from Pasir Ris MRT station.
Just like the Punggol outlet, the menu at this OBBA Jjajang Express is short and concise, with prices that are lower as compared to Woodlands. Portions, however, are a little on the smaller side, so keep that in mind if you’re a big eater!
As always, the signature Jjajangmyeon (S$6.80), comprising chewy handmade noodles topped with diced pork, vegetables, and a thick chunjang (black soybean paste) sauce, is a must-order. Feel free to top it off with a Fried Egg (S$1) or Fried Sausage (S$1.80).
Exclusive to this outlet is a vibrant-looking Jjajangmyeon Red (S$6.80), otherwise known as sacheon jjajangmyeon, which is prepared using a spicy gochujang-based sauce.
Sides like Fried Pork Dumplings (S$3.50 for 3pcs) and the OBBA-Corndog (S$3.50) with mozarella, rice cake, and fish sausage, are also available.
Of course, you’ll also get to order staples like Jjamppong (S$8.80, spicy seafood noodle soup) and Tangsuyuk (S$9.80, sweet & sour pork), as well as the Jjajang Bab (S$3.50), for those who prefer rice over noodles.
Can’t be bothered to join the queues at their flagship Tanjong Pagar restaurant? This is your sign to hit up OBBA Jjajang Express today!
