Registration for the kayaking activity organised by PA PAssion WaVe, the “Rent A Craft, Pay By Trash 2021” programme has opened.
As Singaporeans, we’ve all done some sort of community service such as visiting elderly homes or clearing the trash by the beach during primary school days. While fulfilling, clearing trash is a laborious task that requires elbow grease — but what if we could make it fun?
Rent A Craft, Pay By Trash programme
For this programme, participants can book a kayak or standup paddle for two hours in exchange for collecting trash at various water bodies in Singapore. No minimum amount of trash is needed for the rental of kayaks, so you’ll technically be paddling for free — don’t take advantage of the system, though.
The kayaking experience will be held at 6 different locations, with no rowing certificate required for three of the locations. Below are the locations available for signup.

However, do take note that for the kayaking experience, you’ll need to have a minimum of two persons in order to sign up — so grab a buddy and save the earth!
The two hours rental for Rent A Craft, Pay By Trash is inclusive of registration, clean up, returning, and washing of all equipment. There are lockers provided but you may have to pay for them.
While this may seem fun, please ensure you are able to attend the session you are registering for. A no-show takes the opportunity away from someone else and that’ll be a waste.
To participate, simply sign up on this website and fill up your particulars. There are different timeslots allocated, so pick the one that’s most convenient for you.
After the experience, do remember to collate your rubbish data and submit it via this link.
