This new garden-themed bistro has Korean-fusion dishes & pool tables for a chill evening

What started out as a snug, vibey space for people to play games and hang out, Kommune by 82Soho now has a sister concept, Tigress by 82 Soho is a luscious, greenery-covered bistro located right opposite Kommune that awaits hungry diners with arms wide open.

Garden-themed interior

One step into the leafy-forward gastrobar easily whisks you away to garden dining right in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Orchard. Wood accents and an overall dark theme of the place helps you to suspend disbelief, even if it’s just for an evening, and you’ll find yourself unwinding quicker than you can say “daebak”.

Korean-fusion mains

Of course, the perennial bistro offerings include the likes of pizzas and burgers — getting your hands dirty and going straight for the kill is the only right way to devour these mains, I’m certain. The list of Japanese Wagyu fat-infused beef burgers comprises The Tigress (S$34) which presents Australian Wagyu, parma ham, blue cheese, tomato, caramelised onion, pickles, and house sauce, as well as the lux Burrata Foie Gras (S$28) that sees foie gras, burrata, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and BBQ mayo sandwiched between a thick bun.

You can also take your pick from pizzas to share like the Bulgogi (S$29) which is a delicious blend of beef seasoned with bulgogi sauce, caramelised onions, mushrooms, and chilli atop pizza dough, or the classic Tropical Hawaiian (S$25) that boasts the usual suspects of ham, candied pineapple, mozzarella, all drizzled with house tomato pronto sauce.

Tapas, bar bites & booze

For lighter snacking, tapas and bar snacks will do just dandy for a chill evening with friends. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Korean-fusion gastrobar without Korean Wings on the menu — order them in Yang Nyeom flavour (S$12 for 5 pieces), Honey Soy Flavour (S$12 for 5 pieces), or a mixture of both (S$22 for 8 pieces). Select from a range of beers to complete the full chimaek experience too, right on theme for a Korean-forward bar such as this.

Under the tapas menu, the Grilled Spiced Octopus (S$19) is a glorious fork-tender serving of Spanish-style grilled octopus alongside roasted cajun potatoes and bacon, while the Burrata & Truffle Mushrooms (S$16) is not to be missed for a fragrant, indulgent accompaniment.

From craft beers, red wines, white wines, spirits, and a mishmash of interesting house-made cocktails, Tigress is a gastrobar for a reason. I’ve got my eye particularly on the White Lady (S$18) which is a gin-based cocktail with citrus-forward notes, as well as a balance of sweetness and sourness.

Pool tables

Separated by a space divider, the bistro is split into two — dining and drinks in the front, pool and fun in the back. Move away from the typical setting of just dinner and drinks and unwind over a game of billiards instead, when you’re dining with Tigress. This addition to the space is reminiscent of their sister outlet, Kommune, which is dedicated to fun and bonding over games.

Reserve a table here.
