It’s no secret by now that Singaporeans love going into JB for a short getaway. And lately, I’ve been obsessed with the dessert offerings in JB — from shaved ice to beancurd bowls, to even traditional desserts — the options are endless.

There’s yet another dessert cafe that you must check out, especially if you love Taro or orh nee desserts. The best part is, they’re open till 12am daily!

Xin Dessert is located in Austin Crest in JB and they specialise in Hong Kong classic desserts, as well as Bingsu and soya beancurd desserts.

Taro and orh nee fans, you’ll wanna keep this place on your radar because the menu also boasts a selection of taro-based desserts like the Taro Milk Mochi Ice (S$3.98, RM13.90)

For a more taro-ffic dessert, the Taro Puree Milk Mochi Beancurd (S$3.69, RM12.90). Fun fact: this dessert bowl is one of the crowd favourites at Xin Dessert, and we can totally see why. It comprises silky soft beancurd, topped with a generous dollop of taro puree, mini taro balls, and milk mochi.

The taro puree is fragrant and not overly sweet, while the taro balls and mochi add a nice chewy texture into the mix. If you’re a taro lover and love the classic beancurd and taro ball combination, then this bowl is definitely for you.

But for the hardcore orh nee fanatics, Xin Dessert also has a beancurd bowl that is loaded with taro. The Yam Paste with Taro Ball Beancurd (S$3.69, RM12.90) comprises silky soft beancurd, yam paste and not one but two types of taro balls — how amazing does that sound?

That’s not all. Taro-lovers, there’s more for you to enjoy too like the Signature Double Taro Soy Milk (from S$2.83, RM9.90).

And in case you’re wondering, no, you don’t have to be a taro lover to visit this cafe.
