Johor Bahru has plenty of IG-worthy cafes to explore like Flowers in the Window, Space Cafe and the very popular Keijometo. As with everything that’s trending and popular, there’s bound to be a big crowd flocking to the scene. If you’re looking for somewhere to chill, away from the crowds, this quaint little cafe could be your new favourite hideout.
Eden by Wizards is located at Austin Heights, about a 30-minute drive away from the checkpoint. While it does take you a while to get there, trust us the drive will be worth it. The cafe is super aesthetic and very chill, which means you’ll be able to reconnect with your inner peace there. And in case you’re wondering, no there aren’t any real wizards there, contrary to its name.
Upon arriving, you’ll be greeted by this dark brown wooden gate against the musky rose coloured walls — it almost feels like you’re entering into a private resort of sorts. Inside is a tranquil and serene garden with grey stones and splashes of green shrubs that make for the perfect IG-worthy spot.
If you get the chance to, you should definitely pose for pics at the bench under the illuminated “Eden” sign at the front of the cafe. It’s such a vibey and aesthetic spot that will surely spice up your feed.
The photo-taking adventure doesn’t stop there. The cafe prides itself as being elegant, sophisticated, and welcoming which explains the many IG-worthy spots around the cafe like a foliage-lined walkway and cosy little nooks. You can even pose for pics by the water feature.
Food-wise, the cafe serves Western-Asian fusion dishes like Green Curry Soft Shell Crab Pasta (S$10.03, RM35), Ocean Trout Mentaiko Pasta (S$10.03, RM35), Salted Egg Soft Shell Crab Burger (S$8.59, RM30), and the classic Avocado Toast (S$9.45, RM33).
They also have other unique dishes like Clam & Mussels Bowl (S$10.03, RM35), Siamese Prawn Spaghettini (S$10.03, RM35), and Braised Wagyu Beef Karubi (S$25.22, RM88) — which sounds absolutely delicious. There’s also meat-less options for those who do not eat meat.
As for drinks, the cafe has your regular cafe coffees like White (from S$4.01, RM14) and Cold Brews (from S$4.30, RM15). But you should definitely try their unique creations like Latte Biscoffee (S$6.30, RM22), as well as an Orange Honey coffee (from S$4.30, RM15) — both of these sound really good.
Matcha lovers will be glad to know that the cafe also has a selection of matcha drinks from just S$3.72 (RM13). If you’re not a coffee or matcha lover, they’ve also got other drinks like mocktails, quenchers, cold pressed fresh juice, and teas.
