From China’s Bingxue to Taiwan’s Go-Ba, and now Australia’s Homm, Singapore has seen a steady stream of overseas dessert cafes setting up shop. But let’s be real, with our love for all things sweet, it’s no surprise!
Homm hails from Melbourne but was founded by Thailand-born Chayathorn Sakdatorn — known as Bass to his friends — and his wife, Praewthip Saithai (or Proud).

After launching three successful outlets since their 2023 debut, the duo has brought Homm to Asia for the first time, with their latest spot nestled in City Hall.
At Homm, it’s all about indulging in Korean bingsu and Japanese shokupan with a Thai twist. So, expect mostly sour and salty flavours in these desserts.

For example, their signature Thai Tea Avalanche Bingsu (S$19.80) promises an extra gao flavour experience with ‘snow ice’ dipped in Thai milk tea and topped with biscuit crumble, whipped cream cheese, and Thai tea gelato. That’s not all as grass jelly, sweet condensed milk, and Thai tea sauce are added on the side.

Another crowd favourite includes the Taro Bingsu (S$19.80) — taro ‘snow ice’ containing taro paste in the middle is accompanied by coconut flesh, homemade pumpkin boba pearls, and salted coconut sauce.

On the other hand, their take on shokupan comes as a Pain Perdu (French toast) coated in crispy golden Panko, available in familiar Asian flavours like Pandan Kaya, Sweet Taro Paste, and Salted Egg. All of the flavours are priced at S$13.80.

You also don’t want to miss out on the Gelato Mochi (S$6.80) if you’re like me and love all things chewy and stretchy. Pick from Thai Tea Crumble, Mango Sticky Rice, Kaya Caramel, and Corn Bechamel mochis.

These desserts can get a little jelak after a while, so you’ll want to wash them down with one of Homm’s refreshing drinks. Personally, I’d go for the prettiest one — Twilight (S$5.80), a vibrant mix of butterfly pea tea and mango passionfruit puree.
For more of a pick-me-up, opt for the espresso-based Eclipse (S$6.80) instead that’s topped with sparkling water and mango passionfruit puree.
Though Homm currently focuses on desserts, they’ve got exciting plans to launch a brunch menu in early 2025. This comes straight from the owners themselves, so stay tuned for more information!
