There are plenty of lunch deals in the CBD, but only if you know where to look.
Here’s one for all the major meat eaters out there at Shabu Shabu Gyu Jin, a buffet-style shabu shabu and sukiyaki restaurant in Tanjong Pagar best known for serving quality cuts of meat at reasonable prices.
If you’re in the mood to treat yourself (and maybe your colleagues) to a sumptuous lunch feast, this US Sirloin Lunch Buffet with a dine-in time of 60 minutes, available only from 11am to 3pm on weekdays, may just do the trick!
For the low, low price of S$15.90++, you’ll get to chow down on unlimited 130g servings of US sirloin, pork belly, pork loin, and chicken, alongside vegetables, crabstick, beancurd rolls, rice, noodles, DIY dipping sauces, and ice cream.

Do note that last orders will be taken at around the 45 minute mark, so plan (and eat) wisely!
You can go for either a Suki Yaki or Shabu Shabu base, and if you opt for the latter, you’ll also get to choose two out of six varieties of dashi, namely Hokkaido Kelp, Savoury & Spicy, Ginger Chicken, Tomato, Suki, and Yuzu Dashi.
But if you’d rather indulge in a proper wagyu buffet with cuts of the more premium variety, look no further than the AUS Wagyu Beef Chuck Roll (S$34.90++) and Japanese A5 Wagyu Beef Chuck Roll (S$49.90++) buffet options.
Can’t make it for lunch? There are several course buffets to choose from, ranging from the affordable Light Course (S$33++) to the extravagant Gyujin Course (S$88++), which features an array of different cuts of Hokkaido silky pork, US beef, and of course, well-marbled Japanese A5 wagyu.
Is free-flow beef worth getting a food coma for? Those who say “yes” can make their reservations here.
