Feast on massive tomahawk steaks & Japanese A5 wagyu yakiniku at this popular halal steakhouse in the east

It’s steak season, everyone! You’ve heard us sing praises of up-and-coming halal steakhouse Charr’d — but what about its sister restaurant Tomahawk King & Omookase?

Situated along Changi Road (literally one unit away from Charr’d), this popular halal beef-centric concept brings together the best of both worlds — Western-style steaks and premium Japanese A5 yakiniku — all under one roof.

Although you can totally tuck into juicy cuts of steak like the Premium Australian 120-days Grain-fed Ribeye Steak (S$43.90) or Premium Aust. Grass-fed Sirloin Steak (S$15.72), Tomahawk King, as its name suggests, is best known for tomahawk steaks.

Round up your most carnivorous friends and tackle this hulking Tomahawk Steak 1.1–1.2kg 120days Australian Grain Fed (S$138.90), served on a sharing platter that also features cheesy fries, onion rings, garden salad, and a selection of three sauces.

This can easily feed up to four, but it really depends on how large of an appetite you have!

Although most tomahawks are served medium (you can choose your preferred doneness), my dining partners and I opted for the classic medium-rare, given that we actually enjoy our steaks on the rare to medium rare side.

Each slice of meat was beautifully seared, yet perfectly pink-in-the-middle; with the right amount of chew — we thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

But if Japanese yakiniku is calling your name, there are plenty of enticing A5 wagyu cuts to choose from. For a tasty yet value-for-money option, the Yakiniku Sets are your best bet.

Each set (from S$99.90 for 1–2pax) comprises fatty, well-marbled slices of A5 wagyu yakiniku, tiger prawns, a platter of assorted vegetables (mushrooms, lettuce, garlic, and pumpkin), and free-flow wagyu-infused beef tallow Japanese sticky rice.

If you order any of the sets, feel free to add on extras, like the unique Wagyu Turmeric Wagyu Chicken (S$10.90), Half Shell Scallops (S$7.90), or even the massive A5 Wagyu Premium Meat Platter (S$89.90, U.P. S$109) consisting of wagyu ribeye, striploin, tenderloin, shortribs, flank, and skirt. More meat for everyone!

All in all, there are tons of premium A5 satsuma wagyu yakiniku cuts to choose from, so order what you like and just get grilling! Don’t forget to also amp up on the flavour by enjoying your meats with the restaurant’s signature yakiniku sauce.
