Popular halal restaurant Royz Et Vous opens fusion maggi-inspired concept with jumbo seafood platters, Korean rabokki & more

by Christabel Tan

Royz Et Vous is probably one of Singapore’s most popular and well-established halal restaurants. After all, they’ve been going strong for eight years (and counting)!

If you’re one of those people who can eat instant noodles every day (even though you probably shouldn’t), their latest venture, Magg by Royz Et Vous, will be right up your alley.

Fancy instant noodles is the star of the show at this unique Muslim-owned maggi-inspired concept along Sultan Gate — it’s the same unit occupied by Royz et Vous and Indobowl.

Think elevated noodle dishes with hearty broths and Asian fusion toppings, so regardless of whether you’re into beef, chicken, duck, or seafood, you’re bound to find something slurp-worthy.

If you’re all about big and bold local flavours, head straight for the M.G.B, or Maggi Goreng Basah (S$18.90), Assam Pedas Snapper & Prawn (S$17.90), or the Lemak Chilli Padi Duck (S$15.90).

Given how instant noodles are commonly associated with Korean cuisine, I can foresee ramyeon fanatics going for the Kimchi Beef Ribs (S$19.90), which looks to be a spin on the classic kimchi jjigae.

Visiting in a larger group? The Korean-inspired Rabokki (S$26.90), boasting an ever-so-comforting combination of tteokbokki, beef shabu, fishcakes, ramyeon, and melty cheese, can feed two to three diners.

In the spirit of sharing, there are two jumbo platters on the menu that will certainly catch your attention, the first being the Meat & Chicken (S$159.90), comprising grilled beef, shabu beef, grilled chicken, sausages, quail eggs, corn, and of course, maggi. It’s a carnivore’s dream come true!

However, I’d rather tackle the Seafood (S$159.90), which comes heaving with lobster, prawns, clams, scallops, squid, mussels, and corn. It’s essentially seafood boil or shellout, but with instant noodles in a savoury tom yum and assam laksa maggi broth.

Choose between the Fried Mantou with Pandan Custard (S$8.90) and Mango Crumble (S$10.90), or simply order both, if you’d like to end the maggi-centric meal on a sweet note.
