There’s a new Minion Cafe in Singapore that’s filled with adorable minion-themed decor and dishes

If we had to pick one Pixar character as the most iconic of the past decade, it has to be the adorable yellow minions. Being such a huge hit, it’s kinda surprising that another hadn’t popped up after the first Minion Cafe at Orchard Central closed down a few years back.

But the crazy little critters finally have a new home at a new Minion Cafe pop-up at Clarke Quay. The whimsical themed cafe will be opening on 28 Oct 2021 and will remain open until 2 Jan 2021 of next year.

If you have a little one who loves Minions — or a friend, adults can like them too — they’d definitely enjoy the cutesy vibes where the walls are plastered with vibrantly coloured Minion art. There are statues of Gru’s assistants hanging around too!

Besides the quirky decor, you can also find some adorably plated food on Minion Cafe’s menu that are just as IG-worthy as the space itself.

If you fancy some carbs, you can go for the Chicken Keema Curry (S$25) that features a pile of rice smartly moulded into the shape of a Minion while the Minion Wagyu Lunch Plate (S$28) also comes with 2 mini riceballs accompanying a slab of juicy wagyu.

Other hearty options on the Minion Cafe menu includes a Minion Kelong Prawn & Scallop Pizza (S$26) that’s topped with tiger prawns, scallops, and most importantly, cute Minion faces.

More interestingly, the Minion Cafe’s menu actually takes a lot of inspiration from Singapore food, with classic items such as chilli crab reimagined into fluffy edible minions in a platter of Minion Pumpkin Mantou with Chilli Crab Dip (S$15/4pcs).

To end off the visit on a sweet note, you can get their Minion Banana Boat (S$18), a white chocolate banana split that’s loaded with strawberry and cotton candy ice cream, as well as cornflakes and blueberries. What more appropriate dessert than the Minions’ favourite fruit?

If you’re just looking to leave Minion Cafe without over-indulging but still want some sweets, you can go for some of the drinks including the Minion Banana Drink (S$9) and Yellow Bellow Pineapple (S$9) that is a concoction of pineapple and lemon juice.
